    Healers are not needed in dungeons

    A recent video was posted by Xeno showcasing that dungeon damage is STILL largely unchanged and STILL more than possible without a healer.

    I thought this was the expansion that was going to drastically change up encounter design which is why they are making jobs easier?
    If nothing is changing then why make the job changes they did?


    At this point, expert roulette queues will just go quicker if we just made light parties 1 tank and 3 DPS.
    We can even change full party content to 2 tanks 1 healer 5 DPS because the new skills Healers have will only make content easier to the point that a second healer is redundant.



    It is clear Creative Business Unit 3 does not want Healers in this game anymore as they have not listened to our feedback.

    It's already the case since the begining of EW.

    In my FC, we always do expert and 90 roulette without healer.

    All Ultimates have been solo healed too.

    This is news how? As the poster above me mentioned this was a problem all through Endwalker's life cycle.

    If I recall the posts correctly, the first set of EXs we got were cleared with out healers, same as the savage raids

    The next set of savage raids were also cleared without healers (or one), and so were the latest 4.

    The only reason why healers are still "needed" in the game, is because FFXIV isn't like Elder Scrolls Online where you can use DF to trick a DPS into the healing role. You actually HAVE to have 1 of the 4 healers. If they ever changed DF to be like Variant Dungeons where you can queue as 1T/3Dps without being in a premade party the role will officially die. Cause its in the zombie stages as is.

    I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

    It is not new news no. This was something we complained about during Endwalker and according to the development team we were to expect changes to Dawntrail's combat design.
    Yoshida said that job changes may need to wait till 8.0 because they were changing encounter design SO MUCH that making the jobs too different would be too much for us.

    It's clear that all of that is just not true. That is what this thread is about.

    It is just further evidence that they are not listening to Healers

    No but really guys astro needed that third ED charge and 2 extra single target effects per minute. Scholar really needed the ability to spam the least used ability on their kit. Sage really needed... well, the got damage, so good for them I guess. White mage really needed an extra tetra stack. We need all this healing so that we can have even more things to not press when we do any content! Bc if dungeons look like this, i cant imagine anything harder is too different.

    But we wouldn't want to stress the new players, or the casuals, who have spent 90 levels at this point learning their classes, right? We wouldn't want to expect the basic level of competence from people who have spent, again, NINETY LEVELS learning the class, right?

    Jfc. Just make 1 tank 3 dps the standard roulette queue at this point. That'll solve the healer shortage, right?

    I gave AST a shot, and it's still miserable to play, even to think about. Worst iteration by far. Praying for 8.0, I guess...

    You know, EW made me quit healing all together, maybe because it was already became boring in Shb and I was expecting some improvements for the role in EW that obviously never came and instead made the role even worse.

    But, DT healers ? How to put it... To quote someone : "I expect nothing, and I'm still let down."

    If they don't fix tank heals/healing requirements this expansion as they lead us to believe then i don't know what to even think anymore. I know warrior healing needs a good kick in the balls but I'm sure most of the warriors will disagree. People pissed and moaned about healing dps and it being gutted, then they cause tanks to insane healing and the healing requirements in general is very low.

    Just remove healers /s

    But dude, you now have a new button to press every 2 minutes to take your glare mashing from a whopping 90% hit rate, to 89% - isn't that fantastic, why aren't you excited to play healer on patch in the new dungeons?

    Healers are there to pop dungeon queues and also to be aesthetically pleasing to look at while you /dance as the WAR clears the dungeon for you.
