Wanted players throughts on whether the Top 20 provisioner system should be changed from a list of the top 20 players to a list of top 20 linkshells instead?

Arguments for:

1. In most LS's players funnel items into one player anyway so why not avoid this nuisance by letting all players hand in and contribute to the linkshell's rating instead? The whole funnelling system seems a bit archaic similar to how the market wards was a step backwards from an auction house if you understand my thinking.

2. If you funnel items into one player, and then that player cannot commit to runs for real life reasons (unexpected work or family issue, power outage, etc) then that would be a waste of time and a frustation to the remaining members. It also puts undue pressure on the nominated player who may force to sacrifrice real life issues.

3. It would actually encourage LSs to become more cohesive as there would be an LS reputation/image to contribute towards. At the moment in FF14 LS's have no reputation or honour, whereas in 11 certain LS's built up reputations in various ways among the playerbase.

4. The Top 3 positions should then be altered to a system whereby any LS can get that extra benefit (a guaranted seal) if their supply rating is over 1 million points, 2mil, 3mil etc. You could then have multiple slots in the top 20 having that benefit if the work hard enough. That would encourage players to participate more I should imagine as relic seals can be less elusive in the long term.

5. At the moment it is top 20 players competing against the server, but what if subscription numbers inflated after version2, that would be a lot of competition so it makes sense to narrow it down to linkshells to be a more realistic competition

I'm sure some players will say if you go midweek there is less points usually required for top 20, but that doesnt really address the above points or whole administration problems the current system has i believe.

thoughts? and arguments against?
