Monk is set to gain a third job gauge in Dawntrail to coincide with changes to the job's GCDs. This gauge shows the three forms of Monk: Opo-opo, Raptor, and Coeurl. The faces on the gauge match the animals that inspired those forms, and behind them are colors representing each form, but those colors are inconsistent when compared with the Master's Gauge added in Endwalker.
In Endwalker, using a GCD while under the effect of Perfect Balance grants you a Beast Chakra. You can hit any combination of GCDs in any order, and the Beast Chakra granted changes based on the form of the GCD used. These Beast Chakra are displayed on the Master's Gauge.
In these images from the official job guide, the example Beast Chakra on the Master's Gauge are ordered Coeurl, then Raptor, then Opo-opo. Inside of each Beast Charka is a stylized drawing of the matching form's animal, and each Beast Chakra is also associated with a specific color. Opo-opo is associated with purple, Raptor with green, and Coeurl is with pink. Being able to quickly recognize which GCDs have already been used is important, and Monks use either the animal symbols or the colors to "read" the Master's Gauge.
In the previews for Dawntrail Monk shown both during the most recent Live Letter and in Media Tour coverage, the colors associated with each form have swapped. The forms here are ordered Opo-opo, Raptor, and Coeurl, and the colors appear to have shifted over by one; Opo-opo taking Coeurl's pink, Raptor taking Opo-opo's purple, and Coeurl taking Raptor's green.
This inconsistency makes the new gauge look sloppy, and will make it harder to adjust to the job's new mechanics. I've been a Monk main since I started playing FFXIV, and I don't want to see the job enter Dawntrail on a sour note. Please adjust the new job gauge to be consistent with the current Master's Gauge!
