2.0 Starter Equipment for Everyone!?

Dear SE,
I am very excited about 2.0 and all it has to offer, especially on my current character. I have noticed that you are introducing some new starter gear to the game that is really very cute in comparison to the drab brown potato sacks we started out with. I wanted to ask if those of us who already have characters would have access to this starting gear in 2.0 or only those who start a new character?

Perhaps this has not been thought of but since 2.0 is like an event in itself the gear can just be placed in our Event Item Storage Lockers or perhaps when we remake our character that is what we are dressed in, until we get all sorted out with our inventory in game?

I am sure there are a lot of gear collectors out there who would appreciate something like this!

P.S. Is that an actual dagger or a dagger just for belt accent and design. I am assuming design since no one else is carrying a weapon.

If it's starter equipment it will definitely be for new players only...but if they were smart and look at what they did with FFXI with RSE, they can add in "3 sets", the starter, the 2nd tier which is quested and the 3rd which comes from drops but that was only hands and feet, but that way everyone will get a shot at having RSE gear of some kind.

We have not had one type of gear specific to a race or class yet. Perhaps on top of the chocobo Legacy peeps can get something of this sort. ♀ ♂

I'm sure it will be available for everyone. I don't see why not? In most MMO you can rebuy the starter gear in case you toss it, etc. But in 2.0's case this has never been done before in a MMO...so to make it fair I imagine everyone will have the chance to have it. Would be silly not to.

It will be available to all. Why? XI has NPCs in every starting nation that all sell level 1 starter-RSE for each race.

Didn't Square pretty much say that all of our current items will be held by an NPC for pickup come 2.0? I'd imagine they'll use that as a way to toss the new starting gear on us, coming out of the re-creation screen.

I always thought it was Race Specific Equipment. . . :x

That being said I do think SE will add an NPC that sells it, just like they did in FFXI if the RSE is being introduced as starter equip♪
