Chocobo Animation and Other Camera Woes

Am I the only one that feels unsatisfied with the current chocobo running animation? To me, at over 55 fps, the animation appears jumpy, and the overall effect plodding. The bird lacks grace in movement, and seems strangely ground-bound, heavy, without much elegance to the step. The sound that goes with the animation, both with and without barding, seems ever-so-slightly off tempo, and definitely does not help. I can totally feel my character's lower-back (and below) pain, when the ride is done.

This adds to something which is noticeable even off chocoback. At maximum camera distance, going up or downhill, even up or downstairs, affects my character's movement's rendering: It introduces a jitter to the camera view which is definitely not planned and not welcome.

    Care to comment?

I too wouldn't mind a smoother Chocoback animation. I think one of the things i'd like to see change is the bouncyness of the ride. I would expect for such a often used mount in the game it would have a smoother gait. The amount of bounce per step my character does is a bit annoying for me to watch. and must be worse then sea sickness for the rider ^^

Camera control is definitely an issue in this game, and it's suspiciously similar to the camera issues that FF11 had, and still does have. The camera seems to have some sort of extreme phobia of getting too close to the terrain or structures in general, and frantically tries to get away from it, making it get very shaky very easily.

I think the camera just needs to be allowed to be positioned "inside" things and allow objects to come in between the camera and the player character, and then instead make objects and terrain that obstructs the view partially transparent while the camera is close to it.

Agreed, this shaky camera is annoying, especially as I like to keep it way behind my character when riding and this amplifies the bug.
