    Change the names of Skills like Fire 1 2 3

    Like in the Title mentioned it would be really nice if you could change the Names of the skills after years and Dawntrail is a good timing to do so i guess,
    From for example Fire 1 2 3 4 to the already existing names Fire Fira Firaga Firaja,
    Cure 1 2 3 4 -> Cure Cura Curaga Curaja
    Thunder 1 2 3 4 -> Thunder Thundara Thundaga Thundaja and so on this just looks so much better and the names already exist in alot of final fantasy games i was always confused why we get the lame version with 1 2 3 4 in ff14.

    Would very much appreciate this change cause it just makes the spells sound alot better and cooler overall.

    Fire 1/2/3 etc is not diffirent to fire/fira/firaga to me at all. They are still the same name in its esssence with slight diffirent effects.

    If we go by FFX logic, the names would even imply an upgrade. 1/2/3 are on that not a bad thing as they just say its version 1/2/3. And if we want to make that more clear, we can go A/B/C instead.

    No... to realy fix this naming issue, abilities need to get a more unique name. Something like: Fire/Fire blast/Fire burst/Concentrated Fire/Pure fire where the additional word implies its prefered use could work:
    - where at best Aoe spells get 'explosions' mentioned in the name (like in my example blast)
    - and single target gets single target focus effects (in my example concentrated or pure would work).

    And this create the next issue: fire and ice arent handled the same as most of these are just refeshing mana in purpose.

    1/2/3 are sadly not such bad names as they are very generic. They are a bit anoying to communicate as numbers are often harder to memorize, but they just do the job as its easilly shorted through just 2 characters: f1,f2,f3,i1,i2,i3.

    The Ra/ga naming tradition in international releases/English language FF games only started happening from FFVIII onward so really old-school FF players are more familiar with number tiers for spells (I know I certainly am). And before you pass judgement, FFXI actually used both, leading to complex and silly spell names like 'Firaga VII'. Even FFVII, the game that put the series on the map, used numbers for spells.

    The former head of FFXIV's localization, Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, explained years ago why they use a number system for spell naming here in FFXIV instead of the modern ra/ga system - it makes it easier to differentiate each spell as being an upgrade in power or usage, especially when localized into other languages - read, French and German, where as 'ra'/'ga' doesn't really explain anything unless you happened to play FFVIII or X. So I do not see this changing. And I prefer it that way.
