I definitely do not agree. It's cross world hunts for a reason. Long ago it was not. So it's intended for the hunts to be shared among the community.

Actually it wasnt? Hunts have existed since ARR and before you couldn’t even travel to other worlds. Please gets your facts right before you spout nonsense.
Also the hunts do not belong to anyone. They are overworld bosses that can be spawned, pulled and killed by anyone. No one has to wait for ten minutes for hundreds of people to hop over especially people who wait till five minutes after a call then cry about it.

Get my facts straight? I literally said it's cross world for a REASON (to be shared). Long ago IT WAS NOT. I literally said in ARR it was not cross world. I been playing 11 years also USED to lead hunts. Relax.Actually it wasnt? Hunts have existed since ARR and before you couldn’t even travel to other worlds. It's cross world hunts so friends from different worlds can do the content together and get credit, not so everyone can swarm the one world with an active S rank.
If 150 players are already there when someone pulls at 3 minutes after the spawn, it's hard for anyone to argue that there wasn't enough time to arrive. Otherwise 150 players wouldn't have been present. There would have been the spawners and a handful of others at best (see Leucrotta spawning in Gamma).
As JacobNewBlood said, not every player online is intended to make it to every spawn and that's okay. It's especially true when the spawn is on a different world.
I still feel the best way to fix the system is to remove the end game tomestones as rewards. Let the hunt go back to being content for hunters and let those who are just after easy quick tomestones go back to doing roulettes and other content to earn the tomestones. You'll see a drastic difference in how quickly things die.
At least one and probably more of the current expansion S ranks have been solo'd on Materia already. Current expansion A ranks have usually all been solo'd within the first month of release. HP is not an issue, especially if you're playing something like Warrior.
Any hunt can be solo'd as long as there's no mechanic that requires the presence of a second player or no way found to cheese such a mechanic. Nariphon immediately comes to mind as one that shouldn't be capable of being solo'd but has been thanks to some hunters coming up with "creative use of game mechanics" when it spawns in certain locations.

I believe you misunderstood. I'm questioning the ideas of level sync or turning the hunts into FATEs, requiring clicking flags and whatnot, i.e. altering the mechanics in such a way that older hunt mobs will become impossible to solo. If every A Rank and S rank suddenly becomes Special Tarasque Force, how would one solo it?At least one and probably more of the current expansion S ranks have been solo'd on Materia already. I don't particularly interact with Hunts or the hunting community. Sometimes, if I see a special mob in 50/60/70 area while I'm out there gathering, I like that I can quickly dispatch it alone or with a friend and my chocobo and go back to gathering.
I don't see a reason why that should suddenly become impossible, to appease a discord group who've decided on a set of rules I never agreed to.

It isn't necessarily impossible to solo a hunt, even at the minimum item level, provided you play a job that has the require sustain and mitigation and do the mechanics flawlessly for an hour or so. What can make it difficult is that even the simplest mechanics eventually hit you if you do them for an hour because your brain burns a lot of energy concentrating that much and eventually lapses and makes a mistake. Another thing that can make it difficult is that I've noticed an auto-heal on bosses and if you don't do more damage than the auto-heal, they actually recover their HP. This is much harder to do against an S rank because their heal is greater.I believe you misunderstood. However, a FATE sync wouldn't normally item level sync you. It would sync you to the maximum item level of the expansion + a few levels higher than that. Which is over 100 item levels from what the hunt is scaled for. It typically still takes around 40-50 minutes or so to kill an A rank on a tank at that point, but would allow for higher damage output and easier survival. An item level sync would be better.
That's why SE hasn't changed hunt design despite some parts of the community asking for changes going back to before I started hunting in Stormblood. They want it to be its own separate form of content, not another set of FATEs that a large part of the player community likes to call pointless and boring.I believe you misunderstood. That Discord group might like to portray itself as arbiters of all things hunt related but they have no such authority. While I'm in general agreement that it's nice to wait a reasonable amount of time for others to arrive, if someone doesn't want to wait they don't have to. I can choose to attack when they do, or wait hoping to buy a little extra time for others to arrive. As much as some claim they want to wait for others to arrive, most of the time that's just talk for appearance's sake. They're more than happy to attack as soon as someone else pulls because the reality is they don't want to have to wait any longer either. If they were fine with waiting, they wouldn't attack until the hunt was almost dead.
Drop what you're doing and run. That was the advice we gave to new members of the hunt community worried about missing out even before world visit was added to the game. You cannot expect everyone else to waste their time waiting for you to arrive. That holds just as true now as it did back then.
You don't have to be. All you need to do is go out and do the hunting yourself. That's the worst part about Hunts currently. I mean, the absolute dystopian levels of social interaction are a big one as well, but I shouldn't have to join a 3 party program to be in the know about hunts. Clearly, the limitations of Linkshells are showing their ugly heads again.
If you're not willing to do the hunting yourself, why do you think you should be entitled to the rewards?

As I recall, you ran one on Coeurl, and I had to literally yell at you guys to let me into your secret cool kids club. The linkshell situation wasn't better. Clearly, Discord is better because it's less gatekeepy. But the cost of that is it's becoming less social. I'm not saying we should go back to it wholesale as people like you were too controlling of the pathways into it, but it's clearly not better. That's why SE hasn't changed hunt design despite some parts of the community asking for changes going back to before I started hunting in Stormblood. Also this. 99% of people never do the requirements to spawn them but expect people to wait 10mins for everyone on every server to arrive. But they will complain if they miss one like they dont just open up again in a few days anyways.
