    That isn't my situation.
    I am still resident in the region of which my account is tied, I have just moved to a neighbouring country.

    If they consider the 'country of registration' a "historical fact" and my current residence does not affect this for data amendment purposes, then the logic also follows for my current residence being an issue with ToS. (I also don't think they have moving country against ToS.. that would be bonkers)

    Anyway, I would never bring personal litigation against such a large company. If my rights have not been appropriately observed under data protection laws, then it is for the data protection body in my country to try and rectify the situation, if I am unable to come to an agreement with the company myself. If they would decide to take the matter further, that would be at their discretion, not mine.

    Thankfully I likely have more than enough time for the expansion MSQ but it still feels like not enough people are focusing on this and many peoples energy is going into frivolous complaints as is usual.

    I've got two friends affected by the address issue since they've moved countries since starting the game back in ARR. They've been playing their accounts on and off for 10 years now, it's unacceptable that SE's official solution is to start a new account.

    4 days until DT release and still not even an acknowledgment of this issue. Despite how archaic their website is, at least it allowed you to pay for the game if you moved up until 2 months ago. I still can’t believe that they would just tell you to start over, especially with how much they lean into the idea of our WoL becoming a part of us in a way. You’d think at least YoshiP would have something to say, unless he’s hamstrung by corporate red tape since this is a financial sector thing.

    Is this a problem mainly for folks outside of the United States? I am just confused as to what is happening. I had to purchase a name change today and when I logged in to do it, it asked me to confirm my address, which I did and didn't change anything (though it said I did which was weird), and then proceeded to purchase with no issues.

    The issue occurs if you have moved to a different country. SE does not allow you to update your country of residence, and so when you enter a method of payment with an address that fails to match your country, it gives you an error.

    You may have fallen afoul of a different problem. DO you use a debit card? If so that is what is doing it. NA is supposed to get a fix for the debit card issue in July. It is one of the FEW issues SQEX has addressed.

    I use a debit card and get a card is unavailable error even after making sure my address was correct which is the same address/billing address i been using for 11 years playing ff14 and ff11. My address and billing address both match and wasn't even able to use paypay or amazonpay and had to resort to buying a timecard for ff14 to add time to what i had left sense i was able to use my debit card before the processor changes.
