Account address issue has STILL not been acknowledged by Square.

I would like to chime in as another voice concerned about being unable to change the country tied to my account. It's a long story but I'm originally from the US, have lived in Canada for years, but intend to return to the US. I started playing after I already moved to Canada, and so the address on my game account is in Canada. I have so much time, effort, and money in the form of my subscription, expansion purchases, emote purchases etc. devoted to my main character alone as well as skips purchased for an alt. It's absolutely not acceptable to fear having to lose all this. I'm very attached to my main character as many people are, and I met a lot of amazing people playing as my character, some of whom even became friends of mine in real life. I don't know if I would want to start over if that was truly my only choice - the loss of my main would hurt a lot, even if other people find that silly. Is there anything else to be done to bring this issue to SE's attention besides the forums here?

to stay subbed once you are back in the US get a family member/friend to make a SQEX store account they buy you a Canadian time card and you pay them for it. Then put the time card on your account.

Other option keep a Canadian bank account to pay things from.

I feel like the fact that you have to suggest literally having a foreign bank account just to *keep your game account* really highlights how egregious this issue is.

Absolutely! It is shameful the SQEX is not solving this problem.

I am just trying to help in the only way I can. Brainstorming ideas for how to cope with it.

Then we need to get the thread to blow up. Get your friends, rally people. If people can get loud about healers feeling neglected then imo they can get loud about people literally not being able to play

Then I'll see who else I can get to talk about this here. The FC I run would be pretty upset if I couldn't play anymore for something so silly as SE making it impossible for me to pay my sub. As noted by someone else as well, I shouldn't have to keep a foreign bank account just to be able to pay SE, and I shouldn't be stuck if I can't get someone to do me an ongoing repeat favor like buying time cards. Even if changing country would involve having to speak to support directly to deter it being done fraudulently, there absolutely needs to be a way to do it. People move, sometimes for very important reasons like their safety or ability to make a living at all. It makes me wonder if support saying "just start over" even has any understanding of just how much of their lives people put into (and get out of, if they are involved in communities related to it) games like this.

Could also try and get this in front of gaming media outlets. Support telling people to abandon accounts, or in the case of the Right to Rectification all but threatening to delete the account, is not a good look, and if there’s anything that can have a chance to light a fire it’s bad PR about how they handle their loyal subscribers of their golden goose right at peak “gain new subs” time.
