Baneful Impaction being locked behind a 2-minute cooldown should be changed

Scholar's only new damage-dealing ability is Baneful Impaction which is locked behind Chain Stratagem's 2-minute cooldown.

Please give us back Miasma II so we can consistently apply a DoT in AoE dungeon pulls, or the original Bane that allows us to spread our Biolysis in dungeon pulls.

Alternatively, please separate Baneful Impaction from Chain Stratagem and lower its cooldown so we can press the cool new button more.

Pressing one extra button every 2 minutes is really boring.

1000% Agree. Sage is getting a standard AoE DoT GCD, but not Scholar for some unknown reason. Sage's new burst option is 60 seconds while Scholar's is 2 minutes. Baneful Impaction's animation is also garbage.

My band aid idea is to just make Baneful Impaction a 30s-40s cooldown AF spender with lowered potency.

I think the animation looked fine, but it is insane that Scholar is being left out to dry with their new DPS skill relative to Sage for seemingly no reason.

Extremely dissatisfied with this new dot... It's laughable. It almost feels like an afterthought. Most of Dawntrail SCH feels like an afterthought.

SE's preference towards SGE shows very clearly, starting with EW.

I'd say SGE and SCH got about the same amount of attention.

SGE's toolkit is more disjointed with the addition of Philosophia due to the way it's designed and added only at lv 100. I'm happy the devs listened to the feedback for the DPS healer to have more DPS tools, but SGE's healing pales in comparison because the kardia system is still underutilized. People asked for AoE Kardia to be introduced at lower levels to cement the DPS-by-healing playstyle, but unfortunately it was given as a capstone skill at lv 100, and with a 180s cooldown to boot. From what I can tell so far, Soteria only affects Kardion, not Eudiamonia (Philosophia's AoE Kardia buff name), so the skill's healing potency doesn't offer a lot of flexibility or versatility when players are taking a lot of damage at a time. SGE doesn't really have buffed shielding output either, or they use Philosophia to buff their GCD shields (which, again, makes Kardia a very disjointed mechanic in their toolkit as they aren't really relying on it to effectively heal in the same way SCH does). Skills like Toxicon hasn't been updated to have a bigger impact on the toolkit. Though potencies are subject to change, the skill is pretty much synonymous with Ruin II, except offering far less than the Fey Gauge.

Visual effects aside, SCH did get a second DoT and "Bane"... just not the GCD DoT and Bane a lot of people were hoping for as it failed to break up the Broil spam. Seraphism is a great addition to resource management for SCH to fully leverage their MP so it is by far not a weak skill and plays well into its tactical gameplay (as long as you can get past the animation). Interestingly enough, they also took into consideration where Recitation doesn't boost Manifestation (Seraphism's upgraded Adloquium) and only Concitation (Seraphism's upgraded Succor), which distinctly separates Dissipation + Recitation + Adloquium spread via Deployment Tactics. Scholar's toolkit lacks a bit more emphasis on Dissipation's advantages on the DPS side and DPS skills in general, but overall the toolkit is very Cohesive for the job's gameplay identity - managing a bunch of various tools to use them tactically in every situation.

My "tactical" use of seraphism (if I ever put it on my hotbars) will be to use the oGCD regen it gives you and keep broiling, and never bother to press the upgraded Adlo and Succor.

Basically a 180CD whispering dawn that will almost never ever get used.

I'm mostly just confused why the AoE DoT is locked behind a single target Debuff...That actively punishes double SCH comps that come up in random parties because you have to overwrite each other just to get the DoT in to the burst windows. And unless the DoT is wildly useful in trash pulls, is it worth using Chain Strategem for it if it means not having it ready for bosses?

Isn't it 720 potency for every single mob in a group?

If so, that's insane. You'd definitely want to use it.
