Duty Support / Trust system for Trials

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this but seeing as the Gameplay section didn't have any subsection labeled as trials I went for the second closest thing.

Why is it that there isn't any implementation for the duty support in the trials yet? I can't state adequately enough how immersion breaking it has been to play the story through HW, SB and SHB when story dungeons are continued immediately by a trial, notable moments here include king thordan after the vault, tsukuyomi trial in sb and vauthry in shb, I've taken a combined three hours of trial queue as a tank/healer to get to them and I suppose playing those classes should mean that those are the faster queue times when compared to dps classes.

Thoughts? Am I just a dumbo wanting for QoL?

There is one Endwalker trial used as a test, I think, of the Trust system for Trials.

To this point, I have heard no word on whether they'll expand this to past and future Trials. I liked it and hope they do so for earlier content.

That being said, queues for trials are generally quick even for DPS during what I consider Prime Time (4 pm to 10 pm CDT) on the NA servers. For me, non-prime time means spending a lot more time waiting in queue.

Not sure how it works for the European servers. Because of the language preference(s) you can invoke, your queue time might be longer. You might want to expand beyond your original language preference to get quicker queue times if you haven't already done so.

    Good luck.

You're not dumb for wanting it as an option.

The level 89 trial was done as a test for possibly expanding Duty Support to the MSQ trials. The developers stated it was far more difficult to program NPC AI for a group of 1 player plus 7 NPCs than 1 player plus 3 NPCs. They feel that trying to do it for all trials would leave the trials feeling less epic than they should for the story moments they represent because they would have to compensate for the NPC presence when designing mechanics. But they also didn't rule out doing it for the occasional trial in the future if the presence of the NPCs as combatants would be important to the story.

In the meantime, they have created a lore reason for why we have other players at our side while doing the trials beginning with the first level 80 trial and further being codified with the 5.3 trial. The change from NPCs to players should feel much less immersion breaking once you get there.

As for your queue times, if you are queueing as tank or healer those seem exceptionally long. Are you playing during off peak hours for your data center? You may want to try listing a party in Party Finder instead of using Duty Finder for random matchmaking. Listing "first time completion" in the description will usually attract players quickly because a good sized part of the community enjoys helping those doing content for the first time. You could also try to find others to join you through the Novice Network if you're a member.

Unless im mistaken, Phantom is an EU server. So in addition to Jojoya's tips, it might really speed up your que's if you change your DF settings. Specifically, on the EU servers you want to consider enabling french and german language matching along with english. In some cases it greatly reduces wait times.

Without adding any spoilers, that one trial with the trust characters added so much immersion for me it was wonderful. It's a shame the technology needed to program a full party of NPCs would be too taxing for SE. Whilst I didn't experience slow queue times whilst my play through with the MSQ, I have heard of other players in my FC having seriously lengthy queues. The suggestions everyone has made here ranging from possibly trying during peak time hours, through to searching/listing in PF and language settings are all excellent suggestions. Another option is your FC = If you are in an active FC and your fellow members are friendly and supportive, it may be worthwhile asking if they could party up with you and help you get through the trial.

I hope these options help you on your journey.
