    Please Give Monk More Positionals in Dawntrail

    Monk had most of its positional attacks removed in Endwalker, going from 6 to 2.

    Now that the combos are being simplified in Dawntrail, can we please have a couple more positional attacks back? It was super fun to have a reason to dance around the boss, and very unique to Monk.

    It feels like Monk lost some of its identity when so many of its positional attacks were removed, could you please add back in 1 or 2 more positional attacks to their combos?

    EDIT: Additionally, with how their combos are set up, Monk will be doing 9 GCDs without having to move for positionals at all since they will execute Snap Punch 3 times in a row. This is really really boring.

    I think the 1-button combos will be opt in (and probably still wouldn't work with MNK).

    Other than that, I agree with you completely, but we all know they won't listen

    judging purely from what we've seen, if positionals are the same then we'll be sitting on the flank for three whole Snap Punches, or 9 whole GCDs. that sounds cataclysmically boring.

    I'd like to have my positionals back too, please.

    I hadn't even thought that far but yeah that will be miserable. SE please add back positionals to a few of Monk's other attacks! It won't make the job too hard! It will be more fun!

    tbh.. I would be fine if Monk becomes that Positional Mastery Monster.. but why did they remove Positionals from Monk in the first place? and the answer along the lines of "Monk is too hard" is mute since if someone wants to play a difficult job, they should have that option!

    No idea. I think they may have thought that with the new Blitz system it would be too much to juggle, but with the simplification of their combos now in Dawntrail I think they could use a bit more to contend with.

    Could give positionals back but make them not matter on Blitz only.

    idk why ppl are so obsessed to sidestep left and right for 11mins - you can still do that in content noone is stopping you but why bother with positionals when the boss hitbox is the size of the arena with no backside in the first place...

    I'd rather see new nuances that fit with todays battle fight designs like more intricate combo trees like they seem to do with viper

    But we aren't seeing that with Monk this expansion which is why I'm asking for some positionals back. You may not enjoy them but I do. I want there to be a reason to do it. Something else to be conscious of. It's fun to move around the boss with intention and get rewarded for it. And if you're bad at hitting them, that's fine, you can still clear practically all content even if you aren't that consistent with them.

    I went into Endwalker thinking I wouldn't miss the sidestep left and right minigame, but once I started doing Savage reclears, I began to realise how empty MNK felt with nearly all of its positionals gone.

    Simply put, I liked positionals because it was one of the few areas of the game where I could actively work on improving my performance. Seeing that I only hit 93% rear Bootshines on my first boss clear would fill me with revulsion, but it also motivated me to play better for next time--it gave me a reason beyond shiny loot to WANT to replay savage. This tier, P11S was the only fight I enjoyed reclearing, and that's because I enjoyed the challenge of trying to hit all of my positionals in a fight that constantly forced me to stay still and move away from the boss' ass. I would've enjoyed that fight much more if I still had all six of my positionals (not that it really mattered in the end, since my static stopped raiding before I could get anywhere close to hitting 100%).

    And look, I want intricate combo trees too, but why are we acting as if they have to be mutually exclusive with positionals? Have one melee be the positional job, and the other be the intricate combo job. Or better yet, they could incorporate both ideas and introduce a melee with branching combo trees that change depending on what positionals you're able to hit. It's incredible yet saddening to think about what CBU3 is capable of making when they're not needlessly pruning things from the game.
