In most games with friendly duels you don't actually kill the other player, it just ends and the winner is announced.

But if PvP would be restricted to an arena, I wouldn't have to. In addition nobody would need to get pissed because most players in the open word reject their duel requests. If you want to duel, go to the arena. It's really the best option.
Also as somebody else said, I'm all for team based PvP. I would go to the arena to watch and participate in that, but one on one? No thanks!
the really cool thing about pvp in this: 90% of the people that whine and cry and complain about it, end up loving it once they give it a chance. and a good portion of those people, will end up being very good at it. it's fun.
How many times must players say "NO"!! I agree I do not want pvp anywhere. If you wanna pvp use the arena period! If you dont wanna use the arena tough shit deal with it. Just because you want it dosent mean everyone else wants it to.
another future pvp addict folks.cheer up grumpy.
LOL even if and when they add PVP arena I will not use it. It proves nothing, what so ever, but if you want PVP than do it in real time combat. Again just because YOU want open world PVP dosent mean that everyone else that plays this game wants it or likes it. As you can not seem to grasp english at what players are saying or have said, its an issue with you. PVP will not improve this game at all other than to satisfy YOUR need to fight another player in the open world. Let me ask you this why cant you be happy with PVP in an arena? What other purpose dose it provide? Bottom line I have better things to do than going around wanting or trying to pvp other players in the open world.

Duels outside the city would be fun and it would be another boredom killer. Unless people want it strictly in the arena then that would be cool. Perhaps some sort of instanced arena in case people just want 1 on 1.
Theres a chance that some people might take 1v1 too seriously though and may start demanding fixes.
I'd like to see a black mage fight a monk though.

there will definitely be fixes ^^, there's is always an imbalance of classes when pvp is introduced, it's part of the fun, hehe. but in general the fixes are to pvp only, and rarely reflect on pvm abilities. if we had duels right now, there would be some very unlikely classes/jobs on top.Duels outside the city would be fun and it would be another boredom killer. first off, I don't believe polls taken on the forums, it's lol worthy. since it's mainly the same trolls kissing each others asses, with agendas along the same lines. I've been playing MMO's for going on 9 years, and see this as a fact, an undeniable truth. that little statistic of yours is a moot point with me and in no way reflects the actual things that others want in the game. most people don't know what they want until they get it. fact.
secondly, you're obviously very stubborn about want or don't want, and that's fine, I respect your opinion, and your right to state it, but when you're done kicking the crap out of that dead horse, I invite you to have an open mind to at least try it, and let us give it a chance before you burn it. a game that cannot evolve is a dead game. you have every right to be a wallflower, and nobody will stop you, but it seems like you're looking for a chat program, not a competitive MMO, which is what this is. imo, this game can be all things to people like you and me, so maybe try not to step on our balls, just because a few of us want a little more out of it. give a chance before huffin and puffin about how horrible it will be.

I'd be up for seeing dueling in the game as long as both players had to agree to it.
