But seriously, isn't that just the flipside of having anyone who wants to pvp go to the arena to do it? IMO it's way less annoying to have pvp restricted to the arena.

Nobody said you can't have pvp, you're getting an arena for it. Honestly, that's the best scenario, because if you go there, you're guaranteed to find somebody that actually wants in on it. You can have it, I don't care for it. My outlook is this; it doesn't matter what the game is you're playing, there is always somebody better than you. I don't care to prove that, I'm here for PvE. It's the same damn reason I don't play Call of Duty and other such games online, it's much less fun having you ass handed to you. Sure, I may well suck at PvP, but guess what? I don't care, I have no interest in pissing contests.

The majority of FF14 players have stated they don't want your obnoxious PvP anywhere but in a closed off arena, when you can gank and grief to your hearts content.(No one is going to see you, and no one is going to care... awww /pout you have no reason to do it now do you?)

yeah but then there will be the people who want to pick on the people who are lower in lvl and want to duel them because that makes them look badass because the higher level guy could beat the lower level one.

It should say in the selected areas and if you're in the area you can choose to duel one on one or one verses everyone.

Or maybe instead of waiving off an entire feature because you don't want to possibly be pestered (which I doubt would happen anyway), you might like to try suggesting a solution to your little, petty problem (like maybe a system where you flag yourself for PvP or can blacklist anyone who pesters you so much).

or even report them for harrasment too! (which I read in the faq at se na that something like that can be a form of harassment and is not allowed by se) but on a serious note why call it a petty problem when there are people in the world who just simply won't take no for an answer and will harass you about it. Not everyone respects everyones wishes an ideals. even then a simple blacklist doesn't mean that you can't see what a person is saying in say or shout.... (if it does take all that away please tell me I've actually never blacklisted anyone so i have no experience with it). If they implement that idea of a duel and give us the chance to accept and decline or what not then they will. So far all they've said that pvp was only going to be in certain areas and nothing more.

Idk if im for or against lol.. so i guess .. add it ..
they could make it to where only those who had pvp on
could be challenged at all.. that would get rid of the spams of it i think..
but has anyone estimated the cost in repairs? lol
