As a player that's been around a while, I will never understand the declarations of "we don't need more worlds."
I started on Mateus, when there were frequent calls to simply close/merge it with another world (Balmung, usually) because it was so dead and empty. Now, it's population rivals the high pop worlds.
I moved to Zalera when Crystal was broken off, looking for that low pop vibe again. Now, I can say from first hand experience, it's far more bustling than it was back then.
I've been here through the creation of the new worlds (and data center) for EU. At the time, everyone declared this killed DF by spreading everyone out too much, worlds are dead, we don't need this much space, etc. After only a few years, it was clear they were full to bursting and needing more expansion.
So, miss me with this whole "worlds are dead, why bother" rhetoric.
Crystal had the benefit of two already populated servers being merged into it though, and how it quickly became "the" place for RP of all kinds. Dynamis meanwhile was made to fend for its self (twice now with the new servers) and it's biggest claim to fame is "the place people went to for low player Fall Guy runs and less FATE competition for Yokai Watch" and soon it'll be the place that gets used as a load-bearing data center for the other three until the log-in queues on those servers die down.
Dynamis whole identity is literally being used as a gutter for runoff from Aether/Primal/Crystal and once they don't need us for the short-term convenience, we'll go right back to being forgotten at best and mocked at worst. Even the influx of Xbox players mostly went straight to Aether/Primal/Crystal because they knew in advance that they were the most populated, and were the places you wanted to be for raiding, PVP, or RP so Dynamis doesn't even have a niche or angle it can sell its self on to bring people over (except maybe tourist trap, we're about to have a massive ghost town in the new housing districts, lol).
