Elezen ver 1.1 Benchmark feedback

Hoping this will be easily accessible for the devs as a category for Elezens. Anyone can submit their feedbacks for Elezens here !

My feedbacks:



Male Elezen - Generally am very happy with the update. However there are some issues I do not fancy.

• The original ear clasps texture is matte. For mine, it looks like bone-white material. In the ver 1.1 benchmark, the ear clasps are so small and metallic. The colours do not in any way present them as matte.

• The overlay of the hair made the brows look patchy. I'm not sure what is causing this issue and I hope it can be fixed.

• The lips look dry in ver 1.1, the reflection is gone. Not a big issue but it will be nice if the lips can look slightly dewy.

• The neck polygons look awful. Necks are big part of Elezens. It will be great if the polygons can be increased in that area.

Female Elezen - She is a Face 4. Originally, my female elezen has a sharp look. However in the v 1.1 benchmark, her sharp look is gone. She looks softer and younger.

• Her eyebrows in v 1.1 benchmark has been altered to a lower ark. I have tried looking at other brow types available but the edges are so drastically high in ark that there are no inbetweens. They make her look very fierce instead of sharp. The brows made a huge difference to her vibe. I hope the devs will look into it.

• Her lips in v 1.1 has been edited into a slight smile. The edge of the original lips are travelling downward. v1.1 lips are also slightly thinner than the original lips. The top part of the original lips looks like 2 Mount Fujis, but the v 1.1 lips looks like 2 hills. The bottom part of the original lips is more plump than v 1.1's. Again, this affects the vibe of the character.

These are my personal feedbacks and I hope the devs will consider working on them. Thankyou so much! I look forward to Dawntrail.

Elezen did certainly improve a lot. Now if only we could remove the Wildwood dark circles which were mistakenly added to the Duskwight faces...

Why does everyone needs their own benchmark thread? Not that they check it much but if you want even a chance at SE staff to look at the issues (the mostly check JP forums) at least concentrate it in one thread.

Cannot post photos but i agree with most you said too. I'm female elezen player and i'm glad they have fixed the wired mouth movement and over pervious to light face, but there's one thing i hope they can improve:
the sharpness on fem elezen's face is gone, please bring it back. I think disappearance of sharpness makes female elezen lose their characteristics and looks less different from other races. She does look softer in new version but come on, I don't need this softness at all.

I agree with most things you've said, especially about neck polygons, except I kinda of like the dry lips.

I agree the original lips (with a slight shine) look better, BUT their new lip gloss technology they've been using across the benchmark goes waaay too hard into the gloss direction - male Miqo'te, for example, look like they are wearing make up. I'd fear that if they apply it to Elezen males, they too will look super off.

Overall I feel like Elezen are the winners of the update and I'll definitely be using fantasia to turn my character into one. Then again I'm obviously not a current Elezen main, so my opinion naturally matters a bit less.

I believe every opinion matters! I have no idea about Miqote's lips, but i don't think they are sharing the same textures as Elezens. For Elezen wise, the glossiness is very visible in original, especially with bigger lips. I have seen a few people complained while comparing the differences. I do like their new approach to the lips. I also hope maybe we can have the choice of choosing the glossiness.

Yes Elezens managed to look good already in ver 1.0 benchmark despite all the wrong shaders XD They look even better now.

Thanks for the link! I didn't manage to find the thread before I decided to create a post, thought that no one has made a category for Elezens yet. Hopefully this post can help to direct people to that thread as well.

My malezen is a Wildwood. I was actually shocked at how dark the shadows around his eyes were. I do hope they lessen them abit. But I do not mind it, makes the features look prominent.

I am so glad that others felt the same way for their femzens. I just couldn't shake off the uncanny feeling when previewing the cutscene. Her expressions were the most important, and they show the vibe most clearly in there.
