Steps:
1. Open Benchmark Character Creator
2. Choose female Au Ra - Xaela
3. Choose face 4
4. Choose mouth type 2
5. Set the character in Character Creation to face the light in any of La Noscea, Thanalan or Gridanian environment.
6. Paying close attention to the area around the upper lip and the corners of the mouth, it looks like there is a horizontal and/or vertical dark shadow across the upper lip area,
causing it to look bent inward/sunken inward, and the corners of the mouth looks sunken inward. in contrast, the lower lip is sufficiently illuminated.

Additional information:
In addition to the character creator this occurs as well in the Dawntrail benchmark v1.1 movie. I've included additional screenshots from the benchmark movie to show the bent in/sunken mouth area to further demonstrate.


While this effect around the mouth always exists on this face type, it is a lot stronger in directional light, in both the benchmark movie and character creator.


The inward dent around the lips and mouth causes the character's face to look very sunken inward towards the bottom, causing distortion in all lighting. In comparison to the lower lip, the upper mouth area and corners of the mouth look much more bent inward.
