Finally, the thread I was looking for.
(Cause sometimes making one yourself is a waste of time if no one bothers)
Yes, on My Au Ra it was blatantly obvious the change.
I liked the tech they are implementing, and I felt like it only needed a slider scale like in some SP games like Code Vein, where you can choose the size and brightness.
But it moves. or simply just affect how bright or blatant it is and have it move, not static.
[Unlike some of the users I seen, I personally preferred the Dynamic. as I know it was for a reason.]
At least some closure, the jp side is also likely to be causing some stir of this atm.
We just have to see if they'll be swinging forwards and back on the changes, or if they'll specifically break down the changes and tune it before or after DT release.
At least they more or less know in what range people want now.
"Angry People" Gonna..,
I've already made a similar thread, but posting the link here- maybe it can be merged down the road
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...t-appears-dull
There was eye shine, but the way the reflections worked was likely too realistic which folks had an issue with- now it's been dulled completely. I also wish the thicker eyelashes had been optional, instead of removing it- seeing so much of the under eyelid is gross imoI honestly agree? I get the reason why people complained about the eyes in the benchmark 1. Not having any shine isn't good, but adding in a static fake shine (or rather, adding it back) is regressing, and it's gonna be really janky combined with what are otherwise a bunch of real and dynamic lights. Not sure what the perfect solution would have been, but I don't think adding in a cartoony eye dot was it.
Here is a screen of miqo eyes in 1st DT benchmark

and here is 2nd (current) benchmark

I'm relieved to see it's not just me, and I hope they can fix this issue as soon as possible. But they are on crunch time now, so I might end up stuck not taking any MSQ SS until it gets resolved. :/
May the stars light thy way.
I did a rough photoshop edit (I didn't do a good job, but it's just to illustrate the point) to show how important this is for the likeness of our cats. We can have upgraded models and still use the older cheap tricks from 2.0 to maintain likeness, there's no reason to sacrifice quality for the sake of fidelity.
I'm glad there's other people who agree on this. As someone who's been staring at their catgirl for 9+years, the subtleties are important to me. The artists on the team are awesome but feedback is important so that things can be tuned, and dismissing people who are taking their concerns to the forums helps nobody. It's frustrating to see how many people are being dismissive to valid critique.
