New Benchmark (June): Au Ra Feedback

Lips were easy to spot with how different they looked, but comparing the images made me realize the eye shape is wildly different and the nose is shorter/narrower as well. It's really draining my hype for Dawntrail, I don't want to do MSQ on a stranger.

As someone who uses Face 2 / Eye Shape 3 - I'd recommend if you can trying Eye Shape 4 on the benchmark and seeing if it might work better for you - in my opinion, Eye Shape 4 on the benchmark actually looks like the current Eye Shape 3!

I still have issues with the lips and I've raised these in the JP thread - I want our frog mouths back! Here is what I would like to see:

Funnily enough, I've been toying with it lately but it's still frustrating that they've changed the eyeshape so much... I already bought a Fanta and waiting on the next Live Letter to see what other changes they're thinking of bringing before Dawntrail, if nothing is mentioned for Face 2 FemRas I might change to it the day before maintenance. :')

Your edit would fix 99% of issues I have with the Benchmark to be honest... It looks so much better and removes the "puckered" look to the lips they've introduced. I really really hope something changes before Dawntrail... Also posted in the JP thread in the hopes for further changes. :')

OMG THANK YOU this is exactly what I want to see for face2. I don't like the way the current lips corners look on the benchmark and I was hoping they would get it better with the update but they didn't. I don't mind the "permanent smirk" that they seem to have given every face/mouth (although I understand some people might not like it, I stand neutral on that point) but the lack of depth in those new mouths really throws me off Also I complained enough on the limbal ring and I didn't want to come back and complain some more, especially since I can't figure out how to have visible images to save my life and make a decent comparison. I also find that Xaela lips specifically lack gloss compared to Raen lips. But maybe that's just me or maybe it's just still a work in progress... I do hope they fix this one, although like some people said, it seems to be an aesthetic choice so they might not Hoping for the best (crossing fingers)

Also, Plushy, respectfully, please just stop now, this back and forth is going nowhere. You made your point so let's stop. And you're burying our posts in your flood of comments and THAT will not help the FFteam to see our problems. We took time listing the differences and editing pictures to calmly and rightfully show our points to the devs and stuff. Please.

- Upload your pictures somewhere (I use Imgur, some people upload on a blog post on Lodestone first to grab the link from there, there are tons of other websites to do that, do NOT use discord URLs directly I think they don't like direct linking)
- Click on the squarish icon with a little tree picture in the forum form
- Paste the URL of your image in the pop up window and done.
Is this a generational problem, has humanity forgotten how to use forums... Am I that old already...


Also as I've stated before, if people have positive feedback to share on this thread, I think no one minds at all.
Just post your own picture and explain why you prefer your own character (or NPCs, if you've recreated them) now.
It's exactly the same principle everyone else has been following.
It is just as helpful as feedback asking for improvement.

And troll or not, sometimes it's better to just not engage any further, they'll calm down eventually.

NO do not worry you are not that old, I'm from the last century if you really want to know and usually know how to do these things, and I did those things, I did uploaded them on an imgur adjacent website but the pictures would not show on my posts in any way! Anyways, this is not about my skills or forum tutorials but I still wanted to thank you for trying to help <3

As you said, there is plenty of positive review and the team will see that, don't worry. We are not denying the feedback you "gathered". We know it exist. Hell just 1 week ago I even saw an internet article saying people were losing their minds over AuRa face 3 because of how pretty they looked. We did not say that your positive undermines our negative but the sheer amount of posts you write, always confrontational of our issues does. I myself have A LOT of positive things to say about my xaela, hell I even go back to the benchmark every 2 days just to look at her because she looks THAT PRETTY! But I still have the right to voice my rightful complaints that I may have and that will NOT erase the positiv. Both can coexist. And both will exist, just like light and Darkness, just like Zodiark and Hydaelyn. I will end with what they literally told you on the japanese forums since I happened to see your post there (I was looking at what the japanese forums were saying in general about the benchmark I was not looking for your post specifically) and they immediately raised a very valid point. Maybe those people's tweet you linked do not want to be publicly posted on forums they may not have access to. You should consider removing them. As far as I know you did not ask for each and every single one's permission for that.

This made me chuckle. I am "not young" and google photos didn't exist when I last used forums for real, so I had to look up how to do that here. :-)

I just wanna say your edit would fix 90% of my issue with face 2 in dawntrail and would make me so excited to play. Sadly the lips we are getting change the entire feeling around it. As someone pointed out they are too puckered

Thank you so much! I've seen a few people say this in the thread and it's really meant a lot to me - so glad you liked it and that other Face 2 Au Ra feel the same! We'll see if any changes are made, but it's nice to know I'm not alone.

Personally I don't want them to make anymore changes unless its before DT - if they change things after DT, people who will have gotten used to the new stuff will be in the same boat the people complaining are right now.

Agreed. I don't want to get use to my new look only for them to change it come patch 7.1.

Just from yoshi-p wording on the benchmark he's aware of the small changes and characters won't look the same and he said they would change things but only if its necessary in future patches.
Which tells me they will change something if its clear bug but as of now. I believe they're done making big changes to characters.
But I like to think the dev team is aware making changes to characters mid expansion patch cycle might not be a good move....
