Yes... and? Did you forget they overhauled how lighting works in Dawntrail? Lighting isn't now being full blasted in your characters face 24/7 to make it look like a runway model. Lights now work realistically. As in... from the sun.
Nope, the puffy "looks-like-she-swallowed-a-bee" cheeks, the exaggerated dimples and that duck-face look were points of contention right from the start, for both Miqos and Au Ras. Don't distort the discussion just to create a false narrative that serves you.
(Edit: Those do not seem to be lighting problems but model problems. Because they were already there under the first benchmark's lighting conditions.)

Eyes are better than benchmark 1 and about on par with the live game. Lighting is better than benchmark 1, and better than live. Lip texturing is better than benchmark 1 but worse than live. Overall midlander #1 still has a lot of problems. Nose hasn't change since benchmark 1 and is very far of the original nose, and it looks worse. Lips are still quite far of the original lips, and they look worse. The optional face detail eyeliner is more smudgy, the darker line at the bottom outer eyelid on live looks better. Lot of other smaller differences that change the overall shape of the face for the worse.

I am happy with my Hyur just not sure which face as the lips have changed somewhat. I used to love face 2 on my Midlander female but there is still a change. I was hoping for more pale pinks and deep reds on the lips but I can manage and get used to it. Is it me or are the lip shades mainly beige brown? not soft pink gloss.
Oh and reading above post on your Hyur I agree the nose does look a little diff to me also.
update good
Looks fine to me. Maybe I'll change the lips color.
I'm... not. Its literally a shadow creating the illusion of lips being sucked in. If you pull the models from the files you literally see the exact model. Theres nothing wrong with them. If you shine a light down at the top of someones head, their face is going to be covered in shadows if the light above the head is the only light source.Nope, the puffy "looks-like-she-swallowed-a-bee" cheeks, the exaggerated dimples and that duck-face look were points of contention right from the start, for both Miqos and Au Ras. I'm feeling in a similar way about my hyurs.Eyes are better than benchmark 1 and about on par with the live game. Lighting is better than benchmark 1, and better than live. I like the new lighting, hair textures, even skin texture. I can accept the slight changes in the eyes, it's okay.
But I just can't stand the lips. They've lost their original shape to become uncute and bigger, and they're ruining every character for me...
Clover
Juliet
But the winner of the lips nightmare is my Viera. She's lost her subtle smile and looks pissed now, which I could accept if the new shape didn't look plain uncute. Also, the lips colour has lost the reflections that made the texture look softer and gradient.
So my opinion is that graphics look better, but characters don't...
EDIT: Extra: My Viera wants to eat your children.
