Not if the goal (as stated by the devs) is to have the characters looking as upgraded versions of what they were before, and the devs only choose to apply feedback that moves them towards that goal.

You're not the devs you don't know what goal they're going for. They said "overall look" this doesn't imply 1:1 this just implies they're going to have the overall same feel which they do.

Also its pretty silly/naive to -automatically- assume the adjustments would make you look closer to how you looked in 2.x/ or get what you want. They might ignore your feedback and listen to someone else and your character might look even more different or not change at all.
This is why I said they installed false hope and it clearly worked on you and the JP players.
Because they wasn't even clear what they're going to change further in 7.x. Is going to be actual adjustments? or just bugs? We don't know.
