More likely it's that they are completely recognizable as the same character and virtually everyone, after the patch, will look at the poster's character and think, "Yes, this is you," rather than, "You are a complete stranger, I don't recognize you at all."

The new character models and the old character models are somewhat like identical twins. People who know a set of twins very well can tell them apart, but no one else can.

Not to mention that style of feedback is useless to the devs. "It feels off" or "it doesn't look right" isn't actionable feedback. "My eyes used to curve downward and now they curve upward, here's a zoomed in picture of what I'm talking about" is actionable feedback. You need to break down exactly what you feel is wrong if you want a realistic chance of it being addressed.

Using a disability as an insult over slightly different video game pixels. Yikes.

    "Insult." lol okay.
    >slightly different
So you can tell the difference? You just get dopamine hits responding to people who didn't ask saying that you can't. Now THAT sounds like some kind of disorder.

I can see what you're saying, but I think it's dismissive to say that to people, implying that THEY'RE the crazy ones for thinking their character looks different.

For someone who's look at the same character for years, every pixel out of place, every slight personality difference perceived is a big deal for them. You don't get to say that they're wrong.

To add to that, cropping screenshots to focus on specific parts would also help a lot with comparing things.
If you just put two screenshots of whole faces as they are there's a high chance that people who are not intimately familiar with your character will not be as sensible to the differences as you are, and so to them it virtually "looks the same".
But if you focus their attention on say the eyes, the mouth, etc, by properly framing them, it's already more likely that they'll see the differences, because they're not distracted by everything else.
(and by "people" and "they" I mean both the people posting here and whatever official entity who might or might not be reading these threads)

    Ah, the friendly FFXIV community.
Nothing like WoW at all. /s

Seriously, what's the point bickering like that?
None is gaining anything from it.

    Edit:
SE have said multiple times that with the graphical update the faces of the player characters will change somewhat.
That there are those who have a hard time accepting and/or getting used to it was a given.
But the sad truth is that people will either have to accept it and get adjusted to the changes or use the free fantasia and find some other settings for their player character.
If SE have/will do any more adjustments/changes before release we just have to wait and see when people can access Dawntrail.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of the eyes in the lighter colors look dulled for a lot of charas during bench, it does seem really prominent on seeker from what ive noticed in comparison though. My guess is just because the irises are so large it's easier to see.

I'm relieved to see the seemingly unintentional luminescent eyes go, personally, since they often look quite uncanny and alien to me -- and it definitely shows itself on all races. Characters like Urianger and Emet both spring to mind. I don't disagree that they can lend a little bit of other-worldliness to characters, which can seem fitting in some cases, but I believe this was always a shader issue and not by design.

The best compromise would be to offer some kind of toggle between the two, if that were even possible, but unfortunately this update isn't about giving us more choices.

Every games offline community is garbage
When people say ff14's community is good they mean ingame, and thats just because the GM's ban people for being toxic. It's artificial, but it works.

So all the stories where people's being stalked?
How people have asked more and more advanced blacklists ingame?

The ingame community is just as bad or worse.
It's just more people ingame than those visiting forums and less open interactions for them to show their faces.
