Updated benchmark

Good afternoon! Does anyone know if Square Enix is updating our entire character model or just our faces? Due to the improved lighting, I'm seeing a lot of blockiness and edges on my models and wanted to know if I should provide feedback on that issue here or wait until after a body patch was announced and released?

I believe they only enhanced polygons for the face, hands and feet. Anything else should stay blocky as before and I don't think they will do the body since it is unnecessary.

Au Ra have special characteristic scales all over their bodies. Hrothgars have fur patterns of all kinds, and have an absurd lack of other options of customization with other means besides. That aside, plenty of gear and glam invites to showing off e.g. your chest, has been the case since ARR. And there are plenty of cutscenes where the body - covered or not - is very much visible. Updating the body is far from "unnecessary".

Good point, Minali! I believe moodud was thinking along the lines of Hyur, Miqo'te, etc... but, even then, you're right. Characters have plenty of opportunity to show off their bodies.

Come to think of it, there's a whole glam set specifically for this purpose. The Emperor's New Gear..

For textures, sure they will be updated for the whole body and everything else. But increasing polygons to make the body model rounder or smoother, is unnecessary.
