I am not saying that it never happens. This is why I wrote “plenty of people” and so forth.
But your comment does incorrectly paint the whole thread as promoting a “fuck me, got mine” mentality (which is ironic, because not only is it not true, we didn’t even “get ours” – it’s purely hypothetical, whereas those who like the update actually “got theirs”).
This simplification of this discourse and the twisting of the feedback of the unhappy side as a whole is what I want to push back on.

We will have to agree to disagree on this point. I do not agree that simply giving detailed feedback is a sign of being selfish. People have (not only in this thread but also when the first benchmark dropped) made very matter-of-fact feedback posts where they explained in detail with images and graphs what was different.

Quite a few people who approve of the update have then unfortunately attacked people just for making those technical feedback posts.

But imo those feedback posts just communicate "I don't like this". It doesn't automatically implicate anything else beyond that. Again, pointing to those posts above mine completely ignores that the main hub of this discussion before benchmark 1.1 took place in a thread that asked to make the update optional, not to remove it at the cost of people who like it.

I think that the original "make it optional" thread and the purely technical feedback given here and in other places are more accurate depictions of the nature of the discussion on the unhappy side as a whole. That does not mean nobody ever approached it with a selfish attitude, we are not a hivemind after all. But it is also simply inaccurate to distort the entire discussion past and present with blanket statements like the ones quoted.
