Updated benchmark

My characters are unrecognizable. First is current, second is from the new benchmark. I am still absolutely horrified with the decisions they made. The eyes and the scaling are all wrong. My Elezens ears are a completely different shape. And something is just uncannily OFF about them. They don't look right at all. All the softness and the subtle features that I loved about them is just gone. The only characters that look remotely okay are my female midlander and elezen. All my male characters look wrecked, especially the Viera.

You have my sympathies.
This is why they're giving everyone fantasia and patching it to last a full hour during which you can continually recustomize.
Similar troubles with my current lalafell design have prompted me to explore alternatives in the benchmark character creator, and I currently have 2 alternates I'm playing with right now, trying to decide on which one.

Also good to mention that the 1h timer is for ingame time spent.
Which is great. considering that there's probably gonna be hours long queues, as with any expansion release.

Since I mostly play with a covered face anyways I'm probably gonna save that Fantasia until the queues has settled down a bit.
I haven't heard anything about a "deadline" for said fantasia (unless I've missed it somehow) so that should be good, I guess.

There are subtle differences between the old and new examples in that post but to say one is "unrecognizable" as the other is absolutely ridiculous.

Not to mention that style of feedback is useless to the devs. "It feels off" or "it doesn't look right" isn't actionable feedback. "My eyes used to curve downward and now they curve upward, here's a zoomed in picture of what I'm talking about" is actionable feedback. You need to break down exactly what you feel is wrong if you want a realistic chance of it being addressed.

I can see what you're saying, but I think it's dismissive to say that to people, implying that THEY'RE the crazy ones for thinking their character looks different.

For someone who's look at the same character for years, every pixel out of place, every slight personality difference perceived is a big deal for them. You don't get to say that they're wrong.

I think that eye glow is present on all races in the current game (unless it's more prominent on Seekers of the Sun), I really like that detail too.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of the eyes in the lighter colors look dulled for a lot of charas during bench, it does seem really prominent on seeker from what ive noticed in comparison though. My guess is just because the irises are so large it's easier to see.
