Updated benchmark

I liked the lightning changes overall and how they fixed some textures. Still, I have issues with Face 7 midlander textures having noticeable "aging" lines in comparison with Face 5 in patch 6.58 and DT bench and Face 7 in patch 6.58

I'd prefer they made those details around the eye optional or revert it back as it is in current patch.

Isn't face 7 meant to be modelled after the Warrior of Light posterboy?
If so SE might want that face to look more aged/endured because of all what the WoL have been through, through out all of the trailers etc.
Looking at a comparison between the 2 faces that share the same sculpt, the one that's not the WoL (original) doesn't show the same age to it.
So I just think they want the posterboy face to look more aged intentionally.
I mean, why else would they put in that extra work to one and not the other if not?
And it's not just the markings under the eyes, there are more subtle changes that adds to the aging look.

So if you happen to like EW M Middie Face 7, welp, you’re screwed. You will get those profound nasolabial folds & aging line and you will like it.

Mm.. I remember how long people was asking for the WoL facial hair option, but SE couldn't add it as a facial option, so they simply had to add it as it's own face.
And I guess that since it appears to be a 1:1 of the WoL posterboy face, any changes to his face will be present on the face 7 as well.
So if SE wants him to be more rugged/aged then face 7 follows suit.

It would be nice if all faces, regardless of race or gender could have an age toggle.
Some might like a face but doesn't want it to be young looking, or vice versa.
But we all know by now that FFXIV character creator is limited and expect new hairstyles being added, not much else will.
Like, the Hyur head 7 took years before that got added.

Decided to check out how one of my au'ra characters look before and after and they did succeed in keeping the feel of the character in her case. She really is just improved. I did spot a little glitch on one of the hairs though. Still some small things for them to fix! The pictures are not an amazing 1:1 having mismatched lighting but the features are much the same imo.

I wanted a kinda creepy looking girl and the glowing eyes is a plus in the update for me!

Guys did you know that if you leave feedback that the devs asked for and they don't do anything with it then there's nothing you can do about it? I mean, I sure couldn't have figured that out. Thanks God there are so many good samaritans out here with the mental health of strangers in mind taking time out of their busy days to point out this extremely nuanced, esoteric bit of knowledge over and over again. Truly we'd be lost without them.

That really is how I look when I browse the feedback threads day after day looking for posts I can respond to insinuating that I think the feedback is futile. It's a perfect likeness, you really have a vibrant imagination.

If anything, this benchmark has taught me how small changes to a persons face can really alter my perception of that face. My viera came out ok in the second benchmark, except the lips that are still made into some weird overfilled and stretched shape. I now have the choice of 1.regular and a bit boring mouth, 2.massive overfilled lips, 3. thin lips, 4 smaller overfilled lips with weird cupids bow. In combination with vieras still not having hats I have decided to fantasia to miqo or au ra until vieras actually get hats (somewhere in 10.0 probably).
After chewing on it for a while I am ok. I might hold off on the fantasia for a little bit until Ive ran around with her ingame for a bit. Maybe the lips arent that noticeable in the actual game....still....hats?? *sigh*

Note: I am not saying she is ugly. I think she is really pretty and I can now recognize her as "mine". I just dislike the lipshape.
