    Need some help with lag

    Hello Everyone,
I recently returned to ff14 and I experienced something that was not the case in the past (at least to this degree and frequenzy).
Lag, to a degree that I do not feel comfortable running dungeons and trials (i am at Storms crown where I have to figth Barbariccia and as such my progress is halted).

What happens is that during combat the enemies (and allies) stand still and my skills stop triggering and then my state of the game gets updated and multiple Aos or attacks from enemies and allies appier very fast )while my attacks and skills simply did not trigger).

    I tried various things:
-I pinged the server (shiva 80.239.145.7) and got back speeds between 11ms to 28 ms with no package loss. <-that seems relatively fast from what I read.
-Made sure no other optional programm was running in the backround or that any internet browsers were open (does not change anything)
-Lowered graphices (resolution, dynamic resolution,...) no changes
-tried one.one.one.one as that was said to help avoid bad nodes on the way to the server. No observable change in game, but ping now has between 66-90 ms (goes back down to around 12ms when one.one.one.one is disabled)

I have resubbed for one month and it is running out in 10 days, in that time I have pretty much run one dungeon (repeatedly for testing) and avoided going further in the story as that would need me to hinder 7 other players.
If I cannot solve the problem I will not renew my sub as that would be wasted money.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to resolve the problem or is this something on SE side?

Thanks everyone for reading and even more so if you have an idea,
    Tam

    Greetings Tam_Hawkins,

I'm really sorry to hear that it you've been experiencing these connectivity issues.

We would like to ask for the following information to get a better idea of the issue:

    - Error messages (If any):
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless):
    - Has this been a long on-going issue or has this only been occurring very recently:
    - Frequency at which error occurs (If this occurs during specific hours, please provide the date(s), time and timezone):
    - Re-Confirm what data center and server/world were you trying to connect to:
    - We would like to confirm if the game has been properly whitelisted through the systems anti-virus/firewall:
    - What is the ISP and what region/country are you connecting from:

We would also like to ask what you have tried so far to alleviate the issue outside of the steps you've already provided:

The connection is wireless, I would prefeer wired but that is currently not possible. I had the same setup when I played last (at the beginning of endwalker) and the game was fine.

I have only resupped for the last month (roughly from 12.5. to 12.6) and the issues has been ongoing for the entire duration of my sub.

The Lag occurs whenever I am in a dungeon (outside seems fine) only while battling enemies. The number does not matter one lags as much as figthing six or more. During a figth it occurs every few seconds. There are no specific hours or days.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with game data. Many actions can trigger this error, such as a slow internet connection, certain security/privacy changes on the default Internet browser, an application running in the background causing interference, use of a VPN or an odd connection (EG: schools or cafes), a possible virus detected on the device, many rapid payments at once, and numerous other actions.

We advise clearing the cache/cookies/browsing data from your default web browser, disabling any web browser extensions (EG: ad-blocker) and trying again. We also suggest resetting the connection (router/modem) you are using to connect to the Internet before trying again.

Open the control panel of the PC and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
*Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

Lastly, check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
Lastly, we suggest to power cycle the router by shutting down the Router and leaving the power supply unplugged for 5-10 minutes.

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
