Do we have any date on when they will block use of the Software Authentication Token app? No idea WHY they want to block it while advising users to use 2FA?

Because maintaining their own app takes time and money when there are alternatives that are well maintained by other parties and already used by a wide population, like Google Authenticator.

Even their physical tokens are a generic item not fabricated specifically for FF MMOs.
They tried having their own app for a while and I guess just realized it wasn't worth it.

Can one set up said Google Authenticator for one click access to the code for FFXIV? Meaning the code it generates can be defaulted to a specific app?

The app opens immediately to a list of codes for everything you have set up to use it all at once. You can reorder them so that XIV is the first one in the list.

Can you click on any of the numbers entered to generate the appropriate code? I am trying to minimize taps as I have a very old phone with a pretty small screen compared to what they are like now.

Oh, forgot, can I have it installed on 2 mobile devices (tablet & phone)?

Once it's set up, you literally just open the app and the code is there.

Any reason to NOT use the Google one compared to M$ and Authy?
