Random tells to buy your house

I just had this happen to me for the third time. A random person sends me a tell asking to buy my FC as it has a large house, it's in a nice spot imo and the FC is max rank and well established. Peeping at their adventurer plate and lodestone they are an RP'er and the particular character they message from is clearly an alt for RP purposes. I'd guess they want to make a venue.

I've had this on three separate occasions now and was curious how many others have experienced similar? It's not a complaint really, their offer is not against ToS and they were perfectly well mannered.

I'm also curious what they are doing to find people to make these offers too? Just pick their favoured list of plots and go down the list of FC's one by one till someone bites? Have any of you been the person offering to buy? What were you looking for?

Third time?? It is odd that they are asking a sizable fc to give up their house. Never happened to me and I'm in EU too. That could be because my main is not the fc leader though. Can't message my alt since it's always offline.

Mao....suspicious. FC whats Mao in never seen this. Other FCs what Mao familiar with, too. Mao thinkings Aelin should quietly poke around Aelin FC and see if is FC mate whats been trying to advertize.

It's three times over a reasonably long time span, I just found it odd it keeps happening. My fc mates would never try and sell the house, we are a small group of friends and have been for years. We all love hanging out at the house as our default spot to just be in. Heck one friend laughed at the offer this recent person made me saying it was far too low (200m). We've spent the last year getting our subs going so we all have a nice little passive income. If you consider it's a large plot with subs etc all sorted, millions of credits and one of the better spots in Ishgard my friend isn't wrong the offer would be far too low to consider anyway.

I've had one offer to purchase my alt's FC house that I turned down.

Opening a venue is only one of many options. In my case, I suspect either they were hoping to get a better plot for their own FC (understandable, they might have targeted mine because there are only 5 members) or they were looking to acquire it for resale and profit, which I have no desire to facilitate. If I decide I no longer want that FC house and neither of my friends who have their alts in the FC want it, I'll simply relinquish it so it goes up in the lottery to give everyone that might be interested a fair chance. I don't need the gil that would come from demolition or selling it.

I don't see any problem with players approaching with offers to purchase. In my case, the offer was left in the message book. I never spoke to the player directly.
