That's what copyright is, protection from other people selling things you own. They're selling reverse engineered code, if they weren't selling it there wouldn't be a case. SE wouldn't be able to sue people giving out cheats for free. That is why I said the Bungie win is such a big deal if you bothered to read my other post. It has to do with IP and not just the selling of cheats. https://www.gamefile.news/p/bungie-a...estiny-2-trial
Yeah, take away people's customization mods whose main playerbase are RPers/people who hang out, prolly the biggest side of this game in terms of players
centa
Look you can like more or less mods but it's a fact if you take those away from people, an enormous percentage is just leaving and never coming back, and not even talking now char customization but things like the ones that allow you to double weave with high ping or QOL stuff
And i'd even bet SE knows this and just plays dumb, because as long as it doesn't touch their wallet, they won't mind it
You could have just said you weren't going to read the article, no need to be wrong again.
Your argument is about copyright yet IP encompasses copyright in this case when talking about games.
You are just saying "I'm rubber you are glue" without actually having any valid or coherent points. Keep bumpin the topic though my guy.
@Azureskies01 Do you even engage in this kind of content? Your achievements are hidden. Not sure how this is relevant to you.
Edit: No savage gear either.

I enjoy that I knew exactly who had started this thread without checking. Anti-cheats are invasive. If they actually implement one, I'm uninstalling. On principle. I have never used a single plug-in, even though YesAlready and Teleporter look really damn appealing.
Edit: Also, remember that US court decisions might not have as much sway over a Japanese company and a game that's also distributed in the EU as you might think.

I only used the word copyright because it's in the article you posted. Perhaps you should read articles before you post them, unless you want to keep being wrong.

Reminder that ACT is literally just a calculator and under the word of SE ToS Discord is a third party app. Be careful what you wish for.
The other games mentioned in the court cases are PvP games with high end prize tournaments. XIV is primarily PvE
I feel like adding in an anticheat may do more harm than good - it would directly exclude steam deck players too, for example. Not to mention the amount of roleplayers supplying the game with a good stream of additional money.
What I can see working is a server side anticheat, that makes sure people don't get to manipulate data packets to do impossible things, like speed hacks, gcd hacks and the like.
