Swapping accidental tomestone gear purchases

I'm already not a fan of the top tomestones being capped post-X.58 patches, but this incident makes me hate it more.

I accidentally bought Aiming armour when I'd intended to buy Scouting (getting mixed up with the fact that Ninja uses Aiming accessories). I already have the Augmented Aiming armour, so this was my week's grind wasted. I'd like a system where pieces can be swapped for their equivalent in another role as long as they aren't bound to you, which could easily fix errors like this.

Anyone else have thoughts?

Or add a system where you could turn it in within a certain amount of time and get a full refund of what you spent in tomestones and then get the item that you want.

Yeah, should have been like wow where you got 2 hours to return an item so long as it isn't used/modified.

While I get your frustration, I would suggest using the job filter when making Tomestone purchases. If you select Ninja in the drop down, it will only show you gear that Ninja can use. It prevents accidental purchases.

I remember at the start of Asphodelos I accidentally bought the wrong item and made a ticket to have it swapped, 2 weeks go by and still no item has been swapped so I end up closing the ticket and telling them to not bother anymore, by then I had already cleared the raid and it was useless since I could just buy the correct item and get bis.
Four(4) weeks go by and suddenly out of nowhere I get a mogmail with the swapped item also telling me it didn't count as my 1 item restore, I trashed it immediately. thnx for reading my blog
Add a buyback system SE. Your GMs will have far less tickets to answer. People WILL make mistakes no matter how many confirmation windows you add, actually the more confirmation windows the more likely it is to get desensitized by them.

Immediately reversible destructive actions are better than forcing the user to not make a mistake. Buying stuff is something we do so often in this game and spending non-gil currency is something we do a lot. It's also not where the challenge is supposed to be.

So long it's not bound then some sort of grace period for trading back in would be appreciated. I'm sure we've all wasted some tomes at some point.
