    Variant Dungeons should replace current ones

    It is in the title, but I think variant dungeons offer a far better experiance than the current hallway design.

    -offer way more replay-ability
    -not role restricted for faster ques
    -have a unique currency that could be used collecting the dungeons' armor sets or other rewards. This could be by expansion or kept dungeon to dungeon.
    -allow for interaction with your party members
    -can offer bonuses for going after an ending someone doesn't have.
    -fate system could be incorporated with different party members giving different hints on endings.

    The current variant dungeons are a little bare-bones, but I don't think it'd take much to make them really stand out.

    I like your idea in theory, but I can guarantee you that the community at large would immediately find the fastest route and just do it every time, no matter what.

    That's why the major exp bonus is tied to someone (anyone in the party) getting a new entry. I think there are parties that'll definitely still skip, but if you're missing out on half the experience points for doing so it'll stop that from happening.

    So?

    The people who want to learn and optimize the best route, who aren't having fun in dungeons right now, get to have fun. The people who like to teach and guide, who aren't having fun in dungeons right now, get to have fun. And the people who just want to go the fastest way and collect their rewards, the ones who get what they want right now, still get to have that after the optimized route is worked out and disseminated by the first two groups.

    I think the focus on variant dungeons for now is to make the routes more unique such as having obstacles on the routes that aren't just mobs (dodging boulders, jumping puzzles, dodging stage hazards while fighting mobs for example.)
    Because I find that they have sort of become 3 hallways already. I'm just scared they'll become less like GW2 dungeons and more like how deep dungeons where we have had the same temporary power for almost 10 years.
    After that then we can have extra systems.

    I’d be all for this, and if not they could at least take some cues from variant dungeon concepts and apply it to normal dungeons.

    A less linear/more Freeform map design would go far to get rid of the ‘hallway sim’ feel dungeons currently have. Less linear doesn’t necessarily need to mean ‘multiple path options’, I more mean in terms of not having the map be a literal line from point A to point B lol.

    I love the idea given above of things like dodging hazards, jumping puzzles, maybe some standard puzzles like the one in Temple of Qarn. Ofc people would just find the best and easiest way to skip or speedrun them, but it’s the thought that counts lol.
