FFXIV by far has the most active and unique battle system of any MMO on the market. They actually had to tone it down because it was so fast paced people couldn't talk and play at the same time. Are you looking for a game where you can just click every skill you have and watch them go off? Sounds pretty boring to me.. Or are you that person who like to just rapidly click your mouse as fast as possible without actually paying attention to what your doing?

Well obviously it's not a constantly recurring issue to accidentally cancel your spell, it's not like it was my main point anyways, lol.

FFXIV combat is only unique in the sense that there's animation lock, really. And also it's not at all demanding so you can have a whole conversation on the meaning of life in your linkshell while you wait around in between cooldowns, etc.

In instances, there's usually enough happening that it never seems boring, but when youre soloing, that's when it becomes especially obvious. I pity new players who will have 1 ability to use over and over.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure even mentioning gear swaps or any of the elements from XI that took a good amount of timing/patience will get blasted, just because.

Yea thats why i wont bring it up about gear swap stuff because another thread it was mentioned in, and that person got blasted about how it should be in this game. Anyway, i hope for 2.0 the battles can be more fun, and have more strategies for taking down foes. I just find it kinda crazy how unorganized partys are with 5 plus mobs just getting spam aoe ws, or magic.

Be nice if XIV just used XIII-2's battle system. I mean it's built around controlling only one character anyway, and it's fast-paced and fun.

But that would require a massive rehauling of all the battle mechanics, and it'd be had to to think up multiple paradigms for each class.
