Oh 100% agree, it's mind blowing that it's still not supported and that it is their response.
I just mentioned this EU regulation in case it might slightly increase the chance of being able to change the country.
Im from South America back then very few South American countries were supported nowadays most of them are but is not a different region anyways, if you create a new account with a south america country you would still be assigned an "Americas" region on your mogstation account only the country would be different.I don't think you've mentioned in which country your are, and it's probably a long shot because I doubt they will even comply, but if your are in the EU, maybe you could try to request a country change under the GDPR law that give the right to rectify your information, since if they do not respect that, they can be fined for millions of €.
Or if you're not in the EU, maybe check if there is some similar regulation in your country.
I did try by any means possible to change my country or even suggesting them about countries regulations but they will just keep bringing the TOS and that I should have been aware of the no changing country policy. They won't do anything about it.

I wonder if it's related to smacking down RMT bots/stolen accounts?
I don't know the ins and outs of Square's ban systems and guidelines but if it's based on IP, it could be an attempt to catch those who have been using VPNs to continue their services?
Or also a way to figure out who's being piloted on stolen accounts if the credit card/bank info being given by the thieves doesn't match the original owner when the time comes to refill the sub?
I feel like there has to be a logical reason behind the decision, even if it was a bad move to make since so many people are being affected.
Is it time to nuke this game into the ground like what players did with Sony and Helldivers? Still havent been given any viable reason nor solution, so yeah... to arms for our lost Warriors of light?
Zepla can't pay her sub and server transfer and Connor couldn't even make an account because of region lock. One would think streamers having this public struggle for all potential new players to see would get Square Enix to reconsider everything about Mog Station. People with zero attachment to the game are not going to start playing it if they can't pay for it easily.
