Character created in new worlds have the road to 80 buff with no expiration.
Transferring from one new world to another shouldn't result in losing the buff.

    What happened:
I had the road to 80 buff for over a year, but lost it 3 months after transferring to another new world (Sephirot to Sophia)
A friend who did not transfer and has a character with greater age and playtime still has the buff

Characters who are transferred to a New World get the Road to 80 buff for 90 days.
Characters created on a New World get the Road to 80 buff for as long as the world is a New World, but at least for 90 days even if the world status changes before that.

Transferring from one world to another probably does affect the buff - (I wouldn't expect a character transferred from a New World to retain the bonus if transferred to a Standard World) - though they could be much clearer about that - and in this case the transfer bonus seems to have replaced the creation bonus on that character.

It's a nice buff but many of us live without it on Standard worlds, so you will get used to it.
