The mogstation changes are scuffed

So here is the problem, I was an exchange student in USA got into FFXIV thanks to some friends and naturally created an USA region account (back then my country wasn't supported either, now it is), anyways all these years I didn't have any problem buying subs or renewing with any card either USA Credit/Debit Card or my country Debit Card, ever since they made this changes to the mogstation nothing works at all contacted support and the best advice they gave me was to create a new account and start from 0 doesn't matter if you bought all the expansions or mounts or your progress nothing at all just start anew.

Then I thought okay I have an emergency crysta for this situations when my cards didn't work, but guess what even tho I already pre bought alot of crysta before all this mogstation changes THEY WON'T LET ME USE IT why?

So I made my research and here is what I found out:

1. They can't change your country for whatever reason (Cant imagine the reasoning behind this)
2. They now verify the IP address of the device you are logging into the mogstation and track down the address to match the one on the mogstation (say you move to a different state/country, you do a trip a to a different place, even if you are just at your friends house you might have problems with the resub)
3. They also verify the credit and debit card address to match the one on the mogstation (same as the previous one you cannot longer use any card)

Fail one and you can't resub at all even if you already have crysta. There are workarounds to some of this issues but I heard is banneable or against TOS but im not sure either.

Anyways Im not surprised SE is struggling with profits if they make it this hard to take my money.

#1 seems ridiculous because people move country, especially in an international multiplayer game where people marry as a result of it and have to move country, or move around due to a job that involves moving like being in the military.

Because JP don't move countries, therefore SE's understanding is that no one does. I'm pretty sure this goes against EU's laws of sorts but I haven't done much research about it yet. Even Blizzard allows you to change your country if you submit the proper paperwork.

You don't need paperwork to change countries on Blizzard, you just need to have the same country IP for 14 days straight to change it alone with just a auto-ticket submission.

I've recently changed countries on it and that's how simple it is.

It would be one thing if it was simply that you could not change your game's version region. That is understandable due to the way licensing tends to work. But locking the country based on the version region for an international online game is just ridiculous. Not even Blizzard was dumb enough to make that mistake. This is definitely something they need to review and change because it will only continue to cause even more problems as they do stuff like this.

Are SE really going to stick to their guns with this and prevent even popular content creators from playing Dawntrail?

A lot of these changes were made due to the fact that Square has been dealing with an extremely high number of fraud cases relating to RMT since they operate on stolen CC numbers to get their keys.
So much so that their old payment processor was threatening to drop them if they couldn't get it under control. The problem is, they really couldn't without doing some extremely draconian things, so not only they had to change payment processors, they still have to do what they can to make it harder for RMT to get access to keys to prevent their new payment processor from repeating history.

So not only did they have to change payment processors to a much..."worse" one, they're also implementing measures to try and restrict RMT as they can. The unfortunate fallback to this is that it has screwed over plenty of legitimate customers due to their very archaic account system setup, but for Square, screwing over some of their playerbase is a better alternative in the short term while they figure stuff out than to getting dropped by a payment processor and being royally screwed on getting payments at all.

Believe me, no sane company would willingly sabotage their ability to make money if they could prevent it.

I don't think you've mentioned in which country your are, and it's probably a long shot because I doubt they will even comply, but if your are in the EU, maybe you could try to request a country change under the GDPR law that give the right to rectify your information, since if they do not respect that, they can be fined for millions of €.
Or if you're not in the EU, maybe check if there is some similar regulation in your country.

The problem is that this should be possible by default, rather than SE's idiotic response of "make a new account".
