    New PvP Gamemode

    Hey all!

    I have a proposal for a new Game mode for PvP! Duells!

    When players want to duell, they'd have to do so infront of other players, which might make some people nervous. Additonally, there are only a few worlds and therefore few Wolvedens, so if alot of people duell, it can get quite crowded and a bit confusing as to who your target is. This would be fixed by creating said Gamemode. It would also give the duelling ring in the Wolvesden another porpuse. **I will add another point further down after giving some more context.**

    The Gamemode would be exactly like the duell function and the Wolvesden, but in an instanced Arena. The Game could be a best of 3 or 5 for example.
    While I understand the difficulty in balancing the Jobs and possible exploitation of the gamemode, perhaps a private instance can be implemented (where no rewards are given for the completion), And an online instance, where people will have to que up. When done through the online instance, people would get rewards! (Progress for Titles/ mounts/glam etc..)

    For possible maps, The Colloseum in Uldah could be used as an example, or an updated version of the old "The feast" map for the Wolvesden. A Samurai training ground for Kugane, and the Arena from the Main story quest "Divine Intervention" for Ishgard!

    **As mentioned above, another point of adding this gamemode would be giving Areas purpose that currently lack just that. If people could que at certain Areas that have arenas, examples would be The Colloseum in Uldah or the Lightfeather Proving Grounds in Ishgard, it would give players reason to go and explore these parts more often. Especially in the case of the Lightfeather Prooving grounds, as it has no real use and not many players even know if it's existence.

    It also would tie well into the Lore, as Ishgard joined the Alliance. So it would make sense for players to compete there as it can be seen as a "training" between the Grand companies.

    Additionally players could pick their class before the start of the match but inside the Instance (Like in frontlines). The expereince for completing the match will be, just like in frontlines, added towards the class the player has initially queued up with. Both Players will see each others class on the UI. This will encourage players to strategize about which class they will have to pick!

    It could also have a ranked version, for more competetive players aswell as a casual one, and completion of them would give a small ammount of series exp. Even a Season for Duells could be implemented amongst the current existing one for Crystalline Conflict and it would be very cool to watch and expand the competetive PvP scene!

    An Unlock quest could be In Uldah, Ishgard or Wolvesden. where these "duells" are advertized.

    I think it's a cool idea for duel aficionados, but the real issue is balance yeah. Past a certain level it's only a couple of jobs that would dominate every matchup.

    The only way I can realistically see this work is if we go back to 16 button pvp format (excluding sprint being #17) and introduce high impact cooldowns where certain jobs could do something to level the playing field a bit to deal with the onslaught of incoming damage or extremely high sustain of some jobs.

    To be fair, we do see this in Frontlines and CC aswell.. Like a team of Dark Knights who know what they're doing can wipe and stall entire alliances. PvP in general is a bit chaotic and, well, "Unbalanced"

    EDIT: In the suggestion I handed in to SE, I did mention that there could be "Buffs" around the Arena that would help even the Fight a little. For example if a healer is up against a Tank or DPS. Sadly, forums has a 3k capacity for Posts so I had to delete some of my points

    Good Point! It would certainly make it more interesting, but I think the current combat would be fine too, even though it's a bit "simplified"

    EDIT: There could be buffs that spawn to help with that issue, I wrote it in my Original post but had to delete that point due to the 3K letter cap on Forums...
