Played through the first few FFXI expansions for the first time recently and I hope we get a cool Ark Angels fight where you fight multiple at once.

I wish we could get iconic weapons as well from bcnm/HNM! I need my kraken clubs as a healer lol Raids dont give weapons but a npc that perhaps you could buy/trade with for some stuff would be awesome

We might be going to Vana’diel after all. Per the official Dawntrail website:
Adventure beckons to an altogether different world─Vana'diel.
"Adventure beckons to an altogether different world─Vana'diel. What challenges await in this new alliance raid crossover with FINAL FANTASY XI?"
Eurgh. Nier-tier crossover for sure.
Seems like the exploration zone is a bermuda triangle thing and probably not FFXI related. So no dunes parties.
Maybe we'll at least get a little chunk of Jeuno as an "Omphalos" equivalent mini-zone.
It might simply be either getting "Called" phasing in and out of a zone. A Omphalos/Eden Campsite.
Or simply travel to another star.
But really no way to tell, and since both are "Running" they really could wind up doing something really Fky with the story for the Alliance Raid.
Unlike with other FFs which get tied into a story, or get item references.
XI is The OG FFMMO, there honestly could be longer term interactions.
[I just hope story wise, it's a different star. and not a Hydaelyn Sundered Reflection.]
I hope they explain some XI lore, because I don't really have an interest in PLAYING XI but I am interested in its world and such. Don't make a half ass attempt like what EW's was about explaining the Twelve (still kinda miffed about that).
They should bring back "Aloha Iroha" to explain the lore

20 years before the current time, there was a massive war between the three allied nations that represented the "five enlightened races" who worshiped the Dawn Mother, and the other "beast races" which had allied with the forces of darkness. The three allied nations were victorious, and since then they have settled on a less bloody method of claiming territory based on the influence of hired mercenary adventurers (granting safer passage and regional bonuses to members of that nation.)
But all politics is local, and the three allied nations have their own problems to solve. (Base game.)
There is a mysterious parallel world called "dynamis" that seems to show the worldas it would have existed if the Enlightened Races had not won! (Dynamis 64 man raids.)
There's also the matter of the machinations of the Duke of Jeuno, a neutral nation that did not participate in the war. (Rise of the Zilart.)
And then one day some of the teleport crystals on the Great Crags on the plains mysteriously vanish, leading to a realm that isn't like the Shadow Realm of Dynamis but is instead "empty" (Chains of Promathia expansion.) This takes us to finally free the city of Tavnazia, which was in the opening movie.
Trouble is also afoot on the distant shores of Aht Urghan, and they have put out a call for mercenaries to aid in repelling their own hordes of ever strengthening monsters... and the super sus Grand Vizier. (Treasures of Aht Urghan expansion)
Back home in your original nations, a new mystery has appeared - Atomos gates in certain regions. Adventurers report being able to use them to travel to the past. Pixies, long believed extinct, have also returned. What is happening to change the world? (Wings of the Goddess expansion)
