Upcoming Changes to Payments for NA

It's very shameful they add taxes but won't even give out a single update for na/eu on any visa card fix minus making a new account. No offense they are losing money with this new payment processor maybe I don't know fix it and people will give money?? But no let's add taxes cause we think we are so cool with the greed

Sales tax on digital sales have been a thing for everything since 2019 in most states square enix for some reason seemed to avoid and is now adding it. But they do need to fix the payment processor issues and the silence since May 1st is not acceptable. But adding sales tax isn't being greedy it's a law they can't avoid.

I get that then now more I'm looking at I came from a state that never taxed goods so this is just still strange for me to see I suppose. I hope when this gets posted updated it with the tax system added it fixes the other issues with the site.

I mean, if you live in a state that has no sales tax you aren't going to be charged sales tax.

[NA] An Issue with Visa Debit Card Transactions (May 1): Follow-up
Following our investigation into the inability to use Visa Debit cards after the payment processor switch in April 2024, we are pleased to announce that we will be implementing adjustments which will once again enable Visa Debit as a payment option for customers in North America.
The adjustments are currently targeted for release in July 2024, and we will provide a more specific date as we move closer to implementation.

In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to remind customers that other payment options are available, such as Crysta (which can be purchased via Amazon Pay or PayPal), Amazon Pay (for online store purchases), or game time codes available from various online retailers, including the Square Enix Store.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused and appreciate your patience as the teams work to test and implement the required adjustments.
