    Summoner in a perfect world

    I'm bored at work and I have nothing better to do, sorry.
    • Akh Morn will not be the Limit Break. Instead Bahamut will cast Akh Morn when summoned, dealing light AoE damage around the target. Ultima will be the Limit Break (like in FFVI);
    • Bahamut and Phoenix will be the only Demi-Summons. They're too thematically important for FFXIV's story to put other ones at their level;
    • You have an ability similar to Energy Drain/Siphon that only gives 1 Aetherflow and has a 30s cooldown. This alone will have three consequences: first, your burst will be way busier; second, you will have to fit two ogcds in the middle of a potential Ifrit phase; and third, you have to be careful not to overcap on Aetherflows when saving them on Phoenix phase;
    • You have a new gauge, which increases by 5 whenever you spend a lego, and can be spent on a heavy-hitting ability at 100. You have 10 legos per minute, meaning that you can use this ability once every two minutes (as long as you don't die and use your summons correctly);
    • Egi-Summons stay on the battlefield and attack their target just like Demi-Summons. At lower levels, the Carbuncle is the one who attacks. Also, Ifrit is the one who dashes and does the melee follow-up, not you. Radiant Aegis works all the time to make up for this change;
    • Titan gcds have a 1.5s Cast Time. Enough of Summoners running around. You wanna use Fester? Radiant Aegis? Swiftcast? Use it beforehand or be punished;
    • Ramuh, Shiva and Leviathan during Phoenix Phase. Their moves are completely different, and their legos are 3-3-2 instead of 4-4-2;
    • No Mecha-Bahamut.

    In a perfect world, egi summons stop being a thing altogether. They are so underwhelming for what is meant to be an FF summoner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afe4sj_wNR0

    I wouldn't mind if the other (non-egi) summons stayed on the battle field while you do all the attacks.
    Also, Ifrit is the one who dashes and does the melee follow-up, not you.
    It is an MMORPG where you have hotbars and a rotation, so I can see why they had to do it this way. They needed to find a way to make it so when you summon things, you don't just sit there and watch like the traditional FF games. Making you sort of engineer the attacks to happen is a fair compromise, and you can make some of them occur while the summon is out (for example, doing the Ifrit dash while Ifrit is still out).

    I do however think that the ultimates casted by the summons is rather boring in FF. It's just a simple raid-wide aoe, and not like the ones I linked to on youtube. An ifrit dash being their ultimate attack would be good, but so would any of the other attacks they do in the traditional FF games.

    That part is honestly kinda annoying. I get the lore that carbuncle needs to be out, but it's just annoying in practice, because when I want it I have to either try to use it before summoning or hope my summon runs out before the attack. Sometimes I just missed the chance to use it.
    No Mecha-Bahamut.
    I don't know what they were thinking with this. Here we all were thinking about Ramuh, Shiva or Leviathan and they just made yet another version of Bahamut? I think SMN will still be popular due to ease and being a Summoner, but if we don't have new summons then they've missed the mark.
