    Crashing Again?

By "crashing" I mean the game (and computer) freezes and there is a loud buzzing noise. Consistently. Yes, this plagued me maybe half a year ago... friends kept telling me it was add-ons, something I didn't put that much credence in. So I stopped mine from loading (I am NOT near as heavy with add-ons as many I know are), and it seemed to go away. I gradually started using mine again and lo and behold, everything ran great. So how can I blame the add-ons?

Well, it started again, got one yesterday and one just now. They were maybe half an hour since game launch. Given this, can I legitably blame add-ons? How can I given my experience? Oh, there are a few that are really game changing QOL ones!

Oh, latest win10. Just got a new security update I installed before going in to FFXIV.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Please try the following:
    - Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable).
    - Please try lowering the resolution.
    - Please try running the game as an administrator.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive. (If Steam version, make sure both the game and Steam are installed on same drive)
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
    - Verify installation files (Steam)
    - Reinstall game (If steam version, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and Steam)

Should the issue persist, as it appears that certain mods may be causing the issue we recommend slowly removing each one and testing it to determine where the issue may originate from.

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
