    PVP Job Ability Ideas

    What abilities do you want to add to your favorite jobs for PVP in 7.0?! This is just a thread to share any ideas you have about what you think would be a cool new skill, or if you want your job to be reworked. I'm sure there will be at least 1 new skill using a new level 91-100 animation, but don't let that limit your creativity!

    Some of my own ideas:

    SCH

    Energy Drain - 15s oGCD Single Target
    Either deals damage to enemy targets or heals ally targets.
    If used on an enemy with a Biolytic effect placed by you, deal bonus damage and grant Aetherflow while removing the Biolytic effect. If used on an ally with a Catalyze effect placed by you, heal bonus health and grant Aetherflow while removing the Catalyze effect.
    Aetherflow: Allows a free use of Biolysis, Adloquium, or Aetherpact. Does not reset the cooldown of Biolysis or Adloquium.

    Shadow Flare - 30s GCD AoE on target, 2s cast time
    Places a 5y radius ground effect on the target that lasts 12s. It deals damage every tick and inflicts Lethargic on enemies inside, increasing their damage taken by 5%.

    Baneful Impaction - 7.5s GCD 5y AoE on target
    An attack that deals more damage the more detrimental effects you’ve placed on targets hit (Biolysis + Biolytic + Mummification + Lethargic). Inflict Heavy 25% on targets hit by max potency for 2s.

    Summon - 30s GCD, ground targeted
    Enters a stance, changing Adloquium to Summon Eos and Biolysis to Summon Selene. Must be in stance for 1.5s before you can summon. Cancels on movement.

    Summons last for 10 seconds and cannot be attacked, but enemy summons have an indicator around them.

    Aetherpact - oGCD, shares button with Summon, spends Aetherflow proc
    Charges the fairy with excess aether to use a special ability depending on the type summoned.


    Eos

    Embrace - petGCD Single Target
    While not being ordered, Eos will automatically cast Embrace, a heal, on the lowest HP ally near her.

    Aetherpact: Fey Illumination - petGCD AoE, 2.5s cast time telegraph
    Eos heals all allies within a 5y radius and grants Fey Illumination, a buff that increases all healing potency received and casted by 10% for 10s. The buff is spreadable with Deployment Tactics.


    Selene

    Embrace - petGCD Single Target
    While not being ordered, Selene will automatically cast Embrace, a shield for 5s, on the lowest HP ally near her

    Aetherpact: Fey Caress - petGCD AoE, 2.5s cast time telegraph
    Selene cleanses one Purify-able effect of all allies within a 5y radius and grants Fey Caress, a buff that reflects a set amount of damage to oncoming attackers for 10s. The buff is spreadable with Deployment Tactics.

    Total # of new buttons: 4


    AST

    Double Cast - new effect
    After being used, grant Luminiferous Aether, upgrading Fall Malefic to Stella.

    Stella - GCD Single Target
    An attack that lowers the cooldown of Aspected Benefic and Retrogradation by 3s.

    Double Cast Stella - 2s oGCD Single Target, spends Luminiferous Aether proc
    An attack that lowers the cooldown of Quasar and Macrocosmos by 3s and Double Cast by 10s.

    Redraw - oGCD, 1 use available with a drawn card
    Consumes current card and draws a different random card with enhanced effects depending on the consumed card. The enhanced card will have 6s reduced from its duration.

    Consumed Balance - The next card will have its properties increased by 50%.
    Consumed Bole - The next card will also increase natural MP regeneration by 50%.
    Consumed Arrow - The next card will also gradually reduce the LB timer by 3s every tick.

    Quasar - 30s oGCD 5y radius AoE, ground targeted
    Readies a star in the targeted area. After 5 seconds, the star bursts, damaging enemies inside the area and extending the duration of your beneficial effects on affected allies by 5 seconds. Enemy Quasars will have an indicator around them.

    Retrogradation - 30s GCD AoE
    Shortens the duration of certain detrimental effects on allies by 5 seconds and applies a HP regen effect for 3s, increasing the duration of the regen by 3s for every effect reduced on the target. Does not affect LB effects or action procs.

    Double Cast Retrogradation - oGCD AoE
    Shortens the duration of certain beneficial effects on enemies by 5 seconds and applies a DoT effect for 3s, increasing the duration of the DoT by 3s for every effect reduced on the target. Does not affect LB effects or action procs.

    Total # of new buttons: 3


    WHM

    Devotion
    Certain spells grant a Devotion proc respective to their element. These procs are permanent until spent or KO, and only a maximum of 2 can be held at a time. Any additional procs will overwrite the oldest one.

    Glare - new effect
    Lowers the cooldown of Stone IV & Aero III by 5 seconds

    Cure III Ready - Renamed to Presence of Mind

    Stone IV - 20s GCD Single Target, 2s cast time, 2 charges, shares CD with Aero III
    Grants Devotion of Earth, increasing your damage dealt by 5%. This effect can stack twice.

    Aero III - 20s GCD AoE on target, 2 charges, shares CD with Stone IV
    Grants Devotion of Wind, increasing your healing potency by 5%. This effect can stack twice.

    Fluid Aura - 15s GCD Single Target
    An attack that knocks back the target 5y. Knocking them into a wall inflicts Binds them for 2s. Turns to Water IV in Presence of Mind.

    Water IV - GCD 5y AoE on ally target, spends Presence of Mind proc
    An attack that knocks back enemies around the target 5y. Grants Devotion of Water on successful hits, lowering cast and recast time by 10%. This effect does not stack.

    Divine Rite - requires 2 Devotion procs
    Spends both Devotion procs to cast a spell depending on what elements you stored.
    • Earth + Earth: Quake - 5y GCD AoE on target, 3s cast time
      An attack that inflicts Heavy +40% on all enemies hit for 2s. Also grants Cleric Stance for 15s, increasing the potency of Glare and Afflatus Misery by 20%.
    • Wind + Wind: Tornado - 5y GCD AoE on target, 3s cast time
      An attack that inflicts Winded to all enemies hit, a DoT effect dealing damage equal to 20% of the target's current HP over 12s. Also grants Shroud of Saints for 15s, increasing the potency of Cure II and Cure III by 20%.
    • Earth + Wind: Holy III - 5y GCD AoE, 2s cast time
      An attack that also heals nearby allies. Applies Dia, a DoT effect for 9s, on all enemies hit and Regen, an HP regen effect for 9s, on all allies hit.
    • Earth + Water: Glare IV - GCD Single Target, 2s cast time
      An attack that removes a single beneficial effect on the target. If successful, the potency of the attack increases.
    • Wind + Water: Bubble - GCD Single Target on ally, 2s cast time
      Grants target Bubble for 10s, increasing their max HP by 10% and healing them for that amount. Also places a 5y radius ground effect on target for 10s, increasing healing received and casted on allies by 10%.

    Total # of new buttons: 4

    Hadn't really thought about it, because: 1) It's unlikely any substantive changes will occur until 7.1; 2) I'd be surprised if any jobs get one new button, let alone 3 or 4.

    I rarely play the jobs you mention, but the SCH and AST changes look to me like they'd require pretty significant reciprocal balance for other jobs because of the synergy of multi-SCH and DRK+AST.

    They can sure add 0 buttons or one negligent button with no synergy with the rest of the kit for most jobs... but that would be boring!!! I'm not expecting anything anyways, this is just stuff I daydreamt about while in Party Finder. I think the jobs don't need any more than 4 new buttons.

    I guess you're talking about large scale PVP, honestly there needs to be better balance for those modes with the current kits. I didn't have frontlines or the mecha mode in mind when I wrote those abilities (I'm pretty sure my idea of Energy Drain would be useless in large scale pvp...), and I'm positive the devs didn't either.
