    Really I just want something to get rid of Ruin III. Anything from HW to ShB you're stuck casting this thing even for the gem summons and I am so sick of seeing and hearing it. Honestly just a simple stone/aero/fire spell instead of just ruin would have gone a long way with the feel of the job when you're playing it.

    How I imagine Levithan, Ramuh, and Shiva playing is like Leviathan is all dash attack spells (think En Avant, but you damage everything your path). Ramuh would be you have to cast a number of spells, and for every spell you cast it increases the potency of an instant finisher spell. Shiva would be you turn into a version of Shiva, and you have 2 melee combos with cast bow, and staff finishers.

    Nice, personally I've felt that it would be nice that instead of summoning Shiva we get a Shiva form since, well... it's more akin to an enhanced battle mode. (Like Hermes, WoL EX, Hydealin).
    Since she tends to fight with a sword and a staff, I thought it could have been interesting to have the ice form do a melee combo (maybe even with a positional!)

    Anyway, one can dream

    Wow, personally, the Dive skill catches my eye. "Dash forward and damaging enemies in your path." While it's not vastly different from Ifrit in being a dash skill, Dive somehow feels more intriguing just by reading about it. It's like threatening the enemies with a "Move aside if you don't want to die!"

    Anyway, with the EW patch, SMN has become a completely new job, and with the addition of the three primals: Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda, it's not surprising that people are hoping for more ARR primals skills to be added in the next expansion. One expansion, three primal skills. The models and skill effects to repurpose are already there. If this was more of a daunting task than people expect, Yoshi-P would have probably mentioned "it's not feasible" when introducing the 7.0 job actions.
    Also, if they absolutely had to create Solar Bahamut, I wonder if it would have been better to unravel related lore in the 7.0 contents and then introduce it in 8.0. With no more job quests being made, adding unexpected skills can leads to questions and skepticism to someone.

    I have played most FF games. Enough to realize that (1) the series used to be about far more and more varied summons than lame Ramuh and Leviathan; and (2) often the better FFs were the ones that did not just repeat the same summons but introduced new ideas: Maduin and Bismarck, Typhon and Knights of the Round, Quetzacoatl and Eden, Valefor and Anima, Brynhildr and Hecaton. In fact, Ramuh and Leviathan didn't even appear in X and XIII and those games were better for it.

    I don't feel the need to be completionist, particularly where FFXIV's lore places less emphasis on those three summons (well, especially Ramuh and Leviathan). I personally hate the "six summons" canon as is pertains to FF, since it has been repeated several times now to the detriment of FF's storytelling and worldbuilding creativity. The series likely would not be suffering so much if it hadn't repeated the XI summons as central pillars of its story for XIV, XV, AND XVI.

    My point is that at least now, SMN feels like it has three basic summons and two powerful summon phases. Even if Ifrit/Titan/Garuda are repeated twice, their repetition in the rotation gives them enough screen time to feel like a sort of base set of skills for SMN. Replacing one of those phases with three new summons will remove any weightiness or intentionality to SMN's kit, just constantly spamming random-bullshit-go. There is intentionality in its current design by focusing on a subset of summons.

    Again, I do not have any issue at all with the devs allowing players to glamour summons. I think that would be a very elegant way of allowing players who want to use Shiva/Ramuh/Leviathan to do so without visually overcluttering SMN. Players have also suggested Warring Triad glamours which I am in favor of. But I don't think forcing SMN players to rotate through increasingly brief and compressed spectacles is good design.

    Honestly, I am glad rote fans like you, without a shred of imagination other than to repeat what has already been done,do not design this game. That sort of SMN design in a game like FFXIV would feel even more trivialized than it is now.

    And I'm shocked that people would settle for reskins when the entire class rotation is a snooze.

    It needs more than just reskins, but it doesn't need three more additional primals added to the rotation, either. I would hope even if they did make egi glamours that there would have been some decision-making elements added to the rotation.

    Solar Bahamut does neither of these things, anyway.

    While I appreciate the thought and passion that clearly went into this, I would worry about having utilities only available every other, 3rd or 4th minute. It seems like it would be really unlikely that you would need that particular utility at that particular moment. You would need very specific situations to line up with that particular set of things.

    That said, if they ever went to a full build and talent system, I could see these being good variants for SMN, but I don't think the idea of having completely different abilities in minute 1 and minute 2 is viable.

    I'd love for Shiva or Odin, I'm not such a fan of Ramuh or Leviathan. I liked the old dreadwyrm trance a lot, something where we can embody a chosen primal would be cool. Maybe a skill that allows us to bank a utility skill from a specific primal for later use to avoid the awkward moment of 'oh not in that part of rotation so I don't have access to the utility'.
