    I'm probably biased by playing the game since ARR so fundamentally reworking the battle system would of course be a breath of fresh air for me personally.

    Now I think what's holding the job designers back is the rigid trinity and 2min system. If they are the same people that designed the pvp job flavour, they are more than capable of implementing interesting stuff but the current guard rails will never allow such thing

    Would help if non-boss enemies didn't always melt like butter; that's part of the reason we're down to 2 minutes snorefest.

    It depends on the job, some don't need a rework, others (like healers) have been needing one for years.

    Overall a top to bottom rework for jobs so they become unique again is something I'd see with good eyes. There is no point having 20+ jobs if they all become copies of the same template and they have introduced over the years a lot of problematic designs like the 2m meta

    Rework all of them. They all lost their identity, and turned into skins of each other, so it's time to reset the universe and start anew. The only job at this point that has some fun is BLU, but even BLU can't have too much fun, cause having fun is prohibited.

    I can agree with PVP skills being a pretty good template as something for the devs to expand upon. Jobs in PVP already feel very unique in their playstyles, and the devs can add more skills on top of the existing ones to turn it into a PVE class. Obviously the common pvp actions like the potions, purify, and guard would have to be disabled, but it sounds like a decent plan IMO.

    Honestly I don't know. It's hard for me to know if the jobs I play are just not engaging enough or if I have just been playing them so long that I am not finding them engaging anymore. I think that might be a number of peoples issue, they've been playing for about 10 years and so the game just doesn't feel the same after so long. They could really get some interesting things going on if they do a ground up rework for combat but they could also do a lot of things wrong and the way things are now seem to be working well for a lot of people.

    I wish every job got upgrades similar to what BLM has been getting because it tends to get more buttons that can fit into its core rotation vs. ones that are reserved for burst.

    The new fireball they have is just a general improvement to both their single target and AoE rotation due to being tied to a new resource that's gained simply from casting fire spells.
