I'd rather just the actual voices we use for our characters already rather than AI, though I have to disagree with a lot of the headcanon arguments. I feel like the game already does this, but disallowing you to intervene in cutscenes, by forcing you to go along with or not with plots that your headcanon character would or wouldn't, by limiting our dialogue choices to what they are WHEN they crop up as mostly you're silent and have nothing to say except to just lifelessly go along with whatever's happening around you - basically, there's already a METRIC TON of things already in the game that break immersion for what someone images their WoL to be like just to facilitate the game's railroad plotlines. Being able to pick a voice for your character so you can be more engaged in the things verbally would just be more of the same.
As for Fallout 4, iirc, much of the backlash involving that was less that the characters had a voice at all and more that the dialogue choices were a poor representation of WHAT they were doing to say.
I'm not fine with AI replacing actual voice work for people and I'd like the voice I picked for my WoL to match their dialogue and maybe we can select personalities for dialogue choices much like we already do for our retainers. It'd be more work on the devs but one I'd certainly appreciate a lot more than the silent protagonist we've been.
