Grouping for Ults, hop into discord and get cactbot blasting through the channel. God forbid you get asked if you are on console as well because some people find that to be a very large detriment to one's ability.

Queuing for pvp in CC and once you reach one of the top tiers of ranked you start...."noticing" things that just seem a bit odd and too fast to happen by normal people.

It really is time (and has been for years) to put a valid anti cheat in the game to stop players from making content far too easy and/or cheating to get one up on other players in pvp.

Console players have pressure to stay more casual just because they can't use the same "enhancements" that PC players can and it is tired and sad at this point. Why even come out with the xbox version if you are going to second class citizen them out of the gate?

My issue with consoles is purely how the devs lack respect for the time players put into it. It’s baffling how it’s been three years since trophies were implemented fir the PS5 and they haven’t fixed how they work. For example, if you did earned the Necromancer title on PC and swap to PS5, they expect you to do it all over again to earn the trophy rather than just pop on its own. It’s a massive middle finger to console players. And yes, there is a fix for this. Cross platform games like Genshin Impact and Overwatch 2 (a Blizzard game!) unlocks trophies if already earned on PC. FFXIV has no excuse for its utter lack of respect for Playstation players. There’s honestly no reason to play the console version and just stick to PC or flat out unsub all together.

While I'll admit that being a console player has seen me worse off such as no ACT or several other useful addons. This only pushes me to be a better player. I can hold my own in pvp. Parse blue in savage raids while the tier is fresh. I just can't track my dps or mod my aura to look how I'd like him to look

I am only concerned about what Arthars is ranting recently - automarkers in ultimates.

Because they became mandatory in PF if you want to do ults PF somebody is expected to use them and opting out of this means not getting to do ults in PF at all.

I admit that on some sense ease of use/quality of life mods are reaction to game design conflicting with player desire to reduce hassle and difficulty.

The last point is ironic, but in reality people don't care about doing hard stuff but getting sense of pride accomplishment™ for completing hard stuff.

Yeah there are so many PFs up obviously asking for automarkers (at least on Aether) that I'm surprised nothing has been done yet.

It depends what for to be honest when it comes to AM. If you're just referring to the usual titan gaols, and when you see that 99% of the community is asking for allagan melons, then maybe, just maybe it's indicative that the mechanic is badly designed. It doesn't even impact console players since it only requires one player to do it for the whole team.

Auto landmarks to solve mechanics, hacks, etc, are obviously a different breed.

Ok so when does this process of "becoming a better player" is going to end so you can finally uninstall them once they already served their purpose?

For PvP it's a problem.

I don't care about it with PvE because it mostly affects the NPCs. However, I think people will find it benefits them in the long run just to learn to do everything with muscle memory. At a certain point, a mechanic will be too difficult because it requires muscle memory and if you haven't developed the muscle memory area of your mind then it's gonna be hard to progress.

I just don't like how we (PC players) find ways to exclude, intentionally or otherwise, console players at the high ends of the game. Now there is more to do in xiv than just raid or pvp sure, however those two things shouldn't be gated by bad actors and it is time Square did something about it.

Neither ACT nor auto markers (as contentious as they are) exclude console players since you only need 1 person in the group using those.
