That isn't exclusive to the ffxiv subreddit, thats how reddit is as a whole. Main subs exist to be hype echo-chambers where no negativity is allowed unless the developers fuck up hardcore.

You'll find more real discussions about the game on the side subs of the game, even the shitposting one has more genuine discussion about the state of the game than the actual mainsub.

Except xivdiscussion. When a reddit sub gets too big, an echo chamber ends up forming anyway. xivdiscussion is almost as negative as people say this forum is. With the main difference being they're all raidheads who only care about how any balance/changes affect their high-end raiding experience, with most other complaints being considered unimportant for them.
