Idea: Leveling alt jobs with help from your 90's via XP redirection.

    1. You're leveling a DPS at, level 59 for example.

    2. Suitable dungeons are all waiting for tanks or healers, so you wait a long time.

    3. You have a level 90 tank or healer, but it doesn't need XP, so you don't run dungeons on it.

    4. How about: You run a level 59 dungeon on one of your 90 tanks or healers, and reassign the XP you would have received in the dungeon to your level 59 DPS alt job as if you had run it with that job.

This feature would provide players with an incentive to fill lower level tank and healer slots, while leveling their alt DPS slots a bit faster.

I suppose there might be some issues with this, so let me know.

I did this for multiple jobs by using the Frontline roulette. As long as you don't actually care about learning how to play the alt job being leveled, it's fine.

And therein lies the problem: It's all too easy to get a job leveled up and have no experience with how it works and plays.

Personally, I think that if you want to level a class then you should be playing with that class regardless of the circumstances.

If you don't want to play that class then don't level it.

I hand in Wonderous Tails each week on the job I want to play the least. You can also keep an eye on your Challenge Log and make sure you get the final bonuses for FATEs, dungeons, commending, etc., on that job. Granted, you still have to play it a bit, but at least you're maximizing the value.

As AmiableApkallu said, daily Frontline is great for XP as well as being just worthwhile to do in general.

No. Earn the XP on the job that needs it so you are hopefully making at least some effort to learn how to play the job.

I believe this and for that reason I also believe SCH should be a stand-alone job that requires ACN30 and starts at Lv30 but has its own level from then on. Grandfather in everyone who already has SCH unlocked by setting their SCH level to their current ACN level but keep all future SCH xp separate on everyone.

Even with this, I'd still just run frontlines over and over anyway to level my other classes like before because it's a much smoother process due to the FL queue allowing you to designate which job is getting you exp or tome rewards upon registration. Plus:
    • Don't need to worry about doing class quests.
    • Don't need to think about gearing up to do lvl 'x' dungeon.
    • A single FL match won't take up to 60 minutes to complete.

The idea might be good for other general players though.

GW2 has a nifty little feature where engaging with certain types of content will reward you exp scrolls and tomes that will give you a flat % of your exp bar on use, and you can trade them between your characters (since it doesn't have job swapping).

Works pretty well there imo (and they have a way more involved combat system). So long as there are places to practice your class mechanics without stumbling on anyone else's toes, it shouldn't be too much of an issue here to, I reckon.

I think a better idea is to make roulettes more repeatable. Sure give the first clear of the day a bonus, but make the majority of the xp come from baseline rather than most of it coming from the bonus.

I don't like that the optimal way of leveling through duty finder is to do a few roulettes that give reasonable xp, mainly leveling + 50/60/70/80 dungeons and then having to queue the highest level dungeon available. The queue times for normal dungeons are really bad sometimes while roulette queue is always good, but the xp of a roulette without bonus is simply not worth doing.

If I want to grind the game, please facilitate it. Waiting 20+ minutes for a regular dungeon queue is not it.

Just another reason not to play the game lol. I don't understand why the players in the game don't want to enjoy the leveling experience. Endgame isn't a magical garder filled with wonder. It's a barren desert
