This is what I've been feeling since a while now. Battle mechanics are such a joke, it seems like they do it on purpose to reduce production cost/time resources. It's really unsettling, that the most important part of the game (battle system) is being cut heavily.
It does often seem like people complain about SE not listening to feedback when specifically their request are not acted upon. It is also worth thinking about how much of the player base people complaining in these forums and on other platforms make up. If it's only a few hundred, or even thousand then is it worth acting on their advice to please them at the risk of alienating tens of thousands that are already happily playing without complaint. There is no guarantee that the changes suggested here or other places would enhance the experience for everyone playing, or even the majority of players. It's also worth remembering this is an international game, and I feel it's primary audience is the Japanese base and their feedback is what the team listens to the most which may or may not align with what we see in the NA boards. All that to say that small groups of friends and people on message boards that you interact with because you share similar opinions about the game do not translate into a majority of players.
If the feedback here is so unpopular with the wider playerbase then the damn community managers need to start coming out onto these forums and telling us thatIt does often seem like people complain about SE not listening to feedback when specifically their request are not acted upon. Right now we are constantly told this is where to leave feedback, we just sit here screaming into a void while nothing appears to get acted on, if square wants to maintain our trust they can at least pretend to tell us where specific feedback is coming from
Note also the unsubstantiated assumption that the people playing without posting are happy, rather than perhaps being bored with the game but not caring enough or cognizant enough of the reasons to speak up about it.If the feedback here is so unpopular with the wider playerbase then the damn community managers need to start coming out onto these forums and telling us that

Most unhappy people just put up with it until they can't anymore and then take off. Any company as big as Square should know this, because if 'I'm quitting FF14' ever picks up momentum then the network effects will kill the game.

I find quite the opposite to be true.Note also the unsubstantiated assumption that the people playing without posting are happy, rather than perhaps being bored with the game but not caring enough or cognizant enough of the reasons to speak up about it.

Most people who are pleased, or otherwise indifferent, with something rarely feel the need to leave feedback. It's almost exclusively the domain of people who have a bone to pick - that's not an exclusive concept to this game. It's unhappy people who feel the need to shout from the rooftops while those who are enjoying or just coasting along that often remain quiet.
I wish the people who say and threaten they are going to quit actually do. And I don't even mean that in a malicious way, not entirely anyway. If the game makes someone that damn miserable then just quit. "B.. but I love this game." Do you? I don't frequent these forums regularly, and yet the times I do I've become quite accustomed to seeing some of the same names crop up regularly moaning and groaning about this or that. And it's like "Why are you still here?" If you really think Square Enix is so deaf to your pleas then go enjoy another game and stop letting yourself be so miserable and find something else to enjoy. Not only are you ruining it for yourself, your attitude ruins it for others.
I don't think, it's fair to take any "majority/minority" argument for anyone. Various people visit the forums to complain about various issues. The interesting thing however, it's much easier to channel an opinion about serious issues, when they resonate with other forum users. And not to forget, people complain on various platforms, not only the forums.I find quite the opposite to be true.

It's partly thanks to YoshiP, that people actually use the forums and leave feedback. Whenever he does an official announcement, people seem to calm down (at least the thread activities go down). He asks us to provide feedback and here we are.

If you think I should give up one of my social circles just because the gameplay's going downhill then you don't understand, well, anything. Excuse me if I don't care that my attitude is ruining the forums for someone who thinks "just abandon your friend group" is a reasonable course of action.
I may be wrong, but I remember Yoshida saying something like this in the EW media tour: "Many people are asking for HW job design, but let's continue with ShB design", not with those exact words, but yeah, they heard our feedback but chose to ignore it for the sake of new players I guess. So what's the point of giving feedback if they're going to completely ignore it?
sorry for my bad english
R.I.P DRG
I think they do listen do feedback but not all of it:
DRK, GNB and DRG saw their dash damage removed.
Jobs got "free uses of gauge" instead of "+50 gauge".
MNK Chakra going up to 10 under brotherhood (I perfectly remember who asked this)
MNK ranged attack.
BRD able to sing during downtime.
GNB's oGCDs spam has been reduced.
Even before, DRK has been asking for help, getting charges instead of a duration for blood weapon.
Return of Dismantle to MCH and Natures Mine's buff for BRD.
It would be bad faith to consider that they don't listen to feedback.
But of course there's cases where feedback doesn't seems to reach them or for some reason doesn't convince them.
Carbunble still going spectator, Flamethrower still being a weak capstone, Living Shadow and Automaton Queen being glorified dot, gauge now being consumed by only 1 ability in the whole kit, MNK getting another rework and a new gauge when other job would have liked the attention, why kaiten gone...
I get the frustration of seeing a job not getting feedback answered and having to deal with something we don't like for 3 more years.
I wish they could simply tell "Oh we didn't had time for that but it is on our to-do list and we hope to be able to do it." or "We didn't did X because of Y reasons".
