- nvm I'll have to test level 100 blm myself first

Single target flare is really bad damage. The Balance theorycrafters did the math it's not worth using outside of extremely niche scenarios.
Meanwhile picto was handed everything blm lost. Here's 3+ 1000+ potency attacks that you can prep, hold on to and cast whenever with no drop off, timers. Or penalty. That's the part that bothers me. We wouldn't be doing more damage than them right now, yet they got the flexibility, prepping at any point as instant out of combat, a better artherial manipulation. A party buff, AND bigger damage. We're never getting an invite with that on the table. It's like when we got ignored for summoner and rdm because we didn't get raise.
If PCT ends up doing more dps than BLM, something will need to be corrected immediately whether it's nerfing PCT or buffing BLM. It is simply nonsensical to introduce a new caster that does best DPS with a raid buff.
And it's not Job jealousy, it's just common sense.
That said, I haven't seen data on rDPS/aDPS yet. Just secondhand mumbling from theorycrafting.

It seems like every .0 patch that devs have to be reminded that damage is the only reason to play BLM. It does not have party utility or mitigation worth considering compared to other jobs, so being a selfish dps is literally all it is. BLM was buffed during EW, if I am not mistaken, which put it more along the lines of SAM aDPS. If PCT is doing more aDPS than BLM that just doesn't make any sense.
And I especially expect it given all the other changes that need to be tolerated with the rotation rework no one asked for.
Between the new expansion quality and the state of jobs, I'm not sure if this game has a budget problem or what the deal is. It seems like several aspects of the game are on auto pilot for a major new launch. It isn't just BLM that is scuffed, and many others have been long since wrecked with no feedback acknowledged.

Is possibles that this just cynical move on part of SE to get more moneys? "Come play DT and become Pictomancer! Can be best DPS character evers (until next flavor comes with next expansion)".It seems like every .0 patch that devs have to be reminded that damage is the only reason to play BLM. Don't attribute to malice what can easily be explained by incompetence.
There are a lot of things in Dawntrail that feel like they were built in an environment without enough time or resources or both. Flare Star was an intentional choice to restrict BLM and make it seem more accessible, but numbers are almost certainly an oversight that will be fixed with the new balance patch.
SE gains nothing from having people who already bought the expansion switching from BLM to PCT.

Mao startings to find BLMs becomings more rigid and less funs. Can BLMs who reached 100 tell Mao if BLMs still fun likes was in EW?
